If A-EON Technology really means business and expects the world to treat the company seriously, then I humbly suggest - and please pardon my language - that you throw this crap-looking press release away instantly, ask a professional PR company for a proper graphical profile and then release a press release that really promotes the product instead of demeaning it. Frankly put, said press release looks to have been made by a 9 year old kid.

Are those" first contact" bords rest of first 125 or 150 betatest batch, that you did not sell?
What if you have 150 potencial "first contac costumers"? Will everyone get X1000?

However, having Acube with X500 and Varisys doing X1000 quality of hardware should never again be the case after the Eyetech / Mai Logic failure. Just the price.

But AmigaOS 4 market needs to live on!

Good to see another Serbian (beware: import prices to Serbia may be extreme due to import taxation! that is an extra added problem, not only low standard

These board should not have anything to do with beta testing phase
as are finished product.

Dont see much "earlybird discount" here - it seems this is the price and first contact probably refers only to first announcemnt of sale

Even more expensive than I expected.

However, I will buy X1000, if it is powerful enough to run eg. DosBox with at least 15000 CPU cycles.

Where did you get the 125-150 number? The beta program was approximately 100 boards and that has never changed.

The "First contact" boards not part of the beta program of 100 boards.

Though it isnt a high end designed document, at least the contents are well written and professional. I do agree one of the os4 team gfx guys or a volunteer from the community could have polished it up. I do like the communication and positive messaging. I'm just thrilled this thing is finally out the door :)

And I'm very pleased to read that Varisys and A-Eon still want to do business together. I figured their business relationship was good, but I am pleasantly surprised that Varisys haven't been scared off by the community.

Well not to sound like as if I dont have any feelings, but,

1699pounds without amiga OS4 license seems a bit harsh on my part of the world. And thats not including postage.

£1699 would equate to $2,600+ in AUD money. I was expecting 2GB RAM for that kind of money, perhaps even a 1TB HDD, and OS4.x license.

If I then add postage that might make it a fair $3000 for this system as I susepct it would be airmailed?

Well, Curious, I would have thought in this day in age, modern era, such as in the music industry, many would be going desktop for this arena as well?

Got 1 mate he own central recording studio (check out the website) and he still uses older music ways to do things, ie.enormous table top equalizers, etc.

Got 1 friend he uses Reason for everything on a $6,500 PC that he custom made up for this purpose. Sooooooooo

Also they say to go to AmgaKit to pre-order but there is no news on their site and looking up X1000 returns no machine nor is X1000 listed as machine. Where is the configurator?

Another thing, they say AmigaOS4.1 Update 5 is included even though Update 4 isn't in realise yet. With OS4.2 being available for download later. But then state it excludes the AmigaOS license? Well, which is it? An expensive machine without AmigaOS or a contraband AmigaOS install? Or is AmigaOS4 actually included?

That doesn't make sense. Beta testing has only started and not all testers have their boards yet. I think this was announced a bit too early. It looks a tad bit unprepared.

I think the same. Better was to wait till aos4.2 (for gallium/mesa, new shell, and stuff). Just because for now , without some drivers, with such price, its make no big sense in compare with sam460.

Still, i hope, they will sold the count to cover their invesments and make some profit on it.
