Way to say goodbye to 50% of your userbase.

We will not contribute to the cause of OS4 because it is a wasted time effort (WTE) and also because if the rules of the project are correct, then we would be supporting potential amateurs.

Insulting Hyperion & all the other independent  coders working on AmigaOS4 seems uncalled for.

Like, *sniff*, we'll miss them so much...

NOT.

Users who would complain about the politics of the people who give them *free* software really are lame. Everyone's better without them.

Besides, if people want to stream shoutcast on an Amiga using a tool that doesn't hang all the time (and actually *works*), they have to use ANR anyway, regardless of their feelings.

[Edit] The politics of the ANR coders did not matter to users untill they released the new version of ANR with political statements.

If the ANR coders dont want people to care about their politics then they should not make political statements, as the whole point in making a statement is that you hope that people do care. [End]

Well the people who are most likely to complain about the politics of the coders giving out ANR are people who will no longer be able to use future versions of ANR on AmigaOs4 and that is because of the politics of the coders not the users as to why ANR will not have an AmigaOs4 version.

So ANR being free on another OS but not on AmigaOs4 is of no use to AmigaOs4 users, so why would AmigaOs4 users be cheering about Free Software on another OS witch they may not run.

Dropping support for this and that happends all the time for Various reasons. But the way it was done in this case was uncalled for and there are far better ways of going about it.

Now then, you have been saying that it was a joke on another site. Lets hope it was and we will see in the fullness of time. But your comments like Quote:
Like, *sniff*, we'll miss them so much...

NOT.

Dont make it look like a joke.

ANR has been far from stable & crash & locks up alot when pushing the buttons at times.

Amplifier has been streamimg shoutcast just fine for a long time and has never crashed while streaming.

I will not comment any further on this topic.

I would be really surprised if ANR got a native MOS version in near future. It takes advantage of some features from that other OS but as long as binary is in 68k and supports 3.1 API (OpenAmiga! ;) you have a chance.

ATM you can't run ANR on OS4 very well due to missing PPC ports of certain key libraries (mpega.library, MUI, guigfx). Quite unnecessary complain about OS4 support right now.

Dearest darling Kenny

If I become aware that a bit of freeware that I use is developed by arrogant, politically militant, sneering and hypocritical losers then I believe I have the choice of uninstalling it and encouraging others to take a look at the childishness you have indulged in so they can make their own minds up.

What politics you stand for I am very well aware of and I don't care frankly, what does bother me is this childish "press release" that you claimed was a joke and clearly by your subsequent comments ( on that board, here, amiga.org etc ) is far from a joke and you are too cowardly to do anything but hide behind it. If you have a political view ( as evidenced by your response on here it is an accurate representation ) then have the guts to stand up and be counted.

Those that hide behind a claim that an insult is "humour" ( when it contains no trace of anything that would tickle a funny bone ) frankly are beneath contempt - so are those that post stuff like you just did.

I am sure you are feeling all victorious about your attempt to further spoil the AOS4 market and make public and (now) notorious jibes about a product that you do not support and have done your best this past two weeks to maximise your flamebait about on Amiga.org. But to me, and to others, you just look incredibly lame.

Shame really because up until a couple of weeks ago I thought you were an intelligent guy who had useful things to say - now you just sound like mips or cheesegrate.
