   posted by gerograph on 28-Jan-2012 15:26:08 (2597 reads)
Hello,...

As promised, find featurelist of upcoming iBatch V 1.4 below. Detailed infos, pdf Documentation and screenshots can be viewed on iBatch Website.
However, iBatch V1.4 will not be available on that website for download, so check www.boingsworld.de webiste for updates. If you are into German language make sure to listen to boingsworld.de Podcast/Episode 24. All the news will be in there, including an interview with the iBatch author.

New Features...
- ignore aspect ratio when resizing
- use wildcards when renaming
- automatic selection of suitable scaling method (in "Quality Mode")
- bicubic
- linear
- window
- with or without lowpassfilter
- sharpen and soften your images
- FXPlugins
- Gamma correction for all images in batchlist
- image too grayscale for all images in batchlist
- add watermark
All this resulted in a complete rewrite of the so called "conversion profile editor". A complete new GUI (see Screenshot) will allow you to define different conversion profiles even easier than before.

Main Features since release...
- batch converting, renaming, resizing, turning
- jpg, png, bmp, iff-ilbm in/output
- autonumbering when renaming
- add capture date when renaming
- all bundled in predefinable conversion profiles
- built-in thumbnail viewer/batchlist creator
- built-in batchlist browser
- exif and embedded thumbnail support
- plugin capability
- html album plugin
- image subtitle plugin (e.g. for html album)
- workflow manager plugin
- slideshow plugin (Win/Aros/Mac/Amiga)
- transfer EXIF Header plugin

@Templario
Yes, another good program, but it is not Hollywood ! However, iBatch has Plugins, one of them (Addslideshow Plugin) utilizes Hollywood

Addslideshowplugin generates a Slideshow for images which had been previously been processed with iBatch itself. The Player for those slides was actually coded in Hollywood. Inside Addslideshowplugin you can therefor choose which targetplatform you want. Further more you can choose different skins, slideshowplayers, etc....

Addslideshow Plugin is also available as standalone "slideshow generator", it is then called SlideshowBuilder

This is an exampleoutput of Addslideshow Plugin / SlideshowBuilder:

Can you give me your System Specs ? Feedback is rather bad compared to high download numbers (upto Version 1.3 I had 1800).

@Author

Hey what is this program coded in, and what is the GUI toolkit?
Seems like a nice little system to code in, the GUI seem like
a cross between Reaction and BOOPSI.

Storm C?

Thanks

@Kotler
Was coded in AmiBlitz 3.5. Loading is done via PPC Datatypes, same as jpeg.library should be native PPC or 68k depending on your system.... I used indeed stormwizard GUI Builer for GUI. Imagebuttons are "Mason" ones, but rendered to 8Bit, as wizard.library (stormwizard GUI lib) cannot handle more colors. Still looking good (even on PAL Highres):

stormwizard GUI builder, has been chosen to easily create "reasonable" looking GUI. This enables me on the other hand to focus on constant updates and improving functionallity. Sure, it would be better to have a Reaction GUI Builder package (looking better, no need for wizard.library).

Even though AmiBlitz 3.5 generates 68k executables, iBatch is still very speedy and "just flies on X1000" - As reported by betatesters (think Trevor quoted that in one of his speeches somewhere on youtube). Main thing which slows down the whole thing is loading and saving images, this is mainly due NOT to Amiblitz, rather to Datatypes.

Thanx for specs

@vulture
drop me a mail at ibatch@web.de if you are interested in other features (or post here or on Amigans.net iBatch support thread...). As stated above feedback is very low (even though download are quite high). If no feedback is given, I take it as a good sign and carry on with what I think is the best.

I sure will, I have a few filters in mind you might want to implement if possible :)

@vulture
Always keep in mind, that any filter will be applied to all (!) images from your batchlist. Adjust e.g. Gamma only for 5 out of 10 images inside your batchlist is not possible yet*.

However, these are the filters which could be added quiet easily:
- contrast, brightness, saturation, invert, sepia, night effect, tint, bias, treshold, edge

A combination of above effects is also possible.

Ideas for further filters are also wellcome and will be considered.

*iBatch can only process selected images of one directory. Only thing which can be set individually for every image is the rotation. Format, name pattern, size, sharpness, qualitiy, gamma, watermark, greyscale will apply to all selected images.
However, this might change in the (far) future, resulting in a complete new GUI Layout and incompatibility to iBatch 1.x. Just think of a spreadsheet list like this

name | rotation | format | namepattern | .... | gamma | ...
e:img1 | right | jpeg | number | .... | 1 | ...
e:img2 | right | jpeg | number | .... | 1 | ...
e:img3 | right | jpeg | number | .... | 1 | ...
e:img4 | right | jpeg | number | .... | 1 | ...
f:pic1 | left | bmp | number | .... | 5 | ...

=> alle images in list will be processed according to conversion profile, expect f:pic1 will be processed indivudally according to user definition
