hardware Classic   hardware Classic : NetBSD supports Mediator PCI 1200
   posted by strim on 7-Jun-2012 2:44:12 (2251 reads)
The NetBSD operating system now includes a driver for ELBOX Mediator PCI 1200 bridges. It is still a work in progress, but already various PCI cards are supported (for example NE2000-compatible networks cards and SATALink 3112 controllers). The driver was developed using information obtained through reverse engineering.

In other non AmigaOS-related news, the UN is preparing resolutions against Syria, a Venus transit has occured and a run away dog has found its owner.

Sigh.

Who lied to you that AmigaWorld is only about AmigaOS?

No, as explained in the driver man page, DMA does not work yet. SATA card works in PIO mode.

@Petah

Ummm... It's in the classic hardware category, I don't see how it isn't relevant...

Any software I can run on my Amiga be it AmigaOS, AROS, OS4, Linux, NetBSD, MorphOS or a custom miniOS as used by Amiga games is valid news on AmigaWorld

The Venis transit may even be on topic if we were to talk about simulating it with Digital Universe (http://www.digitaluniverse.org.uk) on our Amiga's or another similar Program.

As for the stray Dog maybe talking about Paper Boy would maybe make that on topic as well on Amigaworld (http://hol.abime.net/1012)

I may even have to give NetBSD a go one of these days on my A1200 Tower as I have a Mediator setup, if I ever get round to getting my A1200 working in a stable manner.
