| Im very sorry if this is in the wrong place, but Im primarily intrested in HD5000 series and up, not just because its an available, supported modern GPU.. but that its a programmable GPU, using OpenCL.
I was having a quick look of the OpenCl 1.1 index sheet, and something caught my eye.
OpenCl 1.1 adds the ability for one CL processing element, to interact with, and alter the programming and behaviour of another CL processing element, at (any) time?
Does this now mean that an AX1000 with an HD5000 GPU, has 40 copies of the classic Copper Blitter cross modifying combo?
Could this mean that using Classic Amiga graphics tricks, the new Graphics cards would be able to have things like smart interfaces, where a given widget was the whole processing structure for that widget, instead of having to call back to the CPU, even for things such as screen effects processing functions etc?
Sorry.. I get carried away at times... 8(
Thanks Trevor.. Im sorry I still havent won the lotto yet 8(
128 AX1000s would give me a Sequioa rig. .
Ah, that was it, in order to build a really, Really cheap Amiga supercomputer cluster, I need to be able to abuse the bidirectional DVI Crossfire function to allow intermachine graphics card communication, not just intramachine.
I wouldnt even call this impossible, just extremely difficult 8}
Ill go sit in the corner. _________________ The older and more respected a scientist is, the longer it takes to prove him wrong.

erm. please dont let the cat out of the bag....... . Shows the importance of a properly done base like the 2D driver .

In essence, yes. That's basically what GPGPU is all about. It's MADE for processing textures and bumpmaps, but it CAN be used for much more. _________________ This weeks pet peeve: Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.
