Announcement   Announcement : Melbourne Amiga Nightclub swap meet and AmigaOne Auction!
posted by Hypex on 30-Sep-2012 15:16:28 (2221 reads)
Hi guys. Yes, this Thursday night, the Melbourne Amiga Users Group of Victoria, Australia will be hosting a swap meet and an AmigaOne will be auctioned off on the night. We will also be having our annual AGM so are set for a busy night!

We call the club MAUG for short or as I say: "MAUG. We meet at night." But don't let that scare you! Haha.

We will have an assortment of software and hardware on offer. As well as what people bring to swap or sell. And even give away.

The basic specs of the AmigaOne Auction are:
A1-XE G3 800Mhz in tower case.
Preinstalled with OS4.0.
Includes set of Linux install CDs.
And also some special Amiga extras from the hey days as well as registered software.

Don't want to give too much away so if you are a local and can make it on the night then please do and enjoy the fun of the Melbourne Amiga scene.

Address and time:
Kellaway Ave Neighbourhood Centre.
5 Kellaway Ave, Moonee Ponds, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Doors open 8:30PM.

Map

Hope to see all the locals there!

Expect to see a lot of pristine software and usually a lot of hardware too.

Last time we held an auction there were 3 or 4 graphics cards... and about 5 large boxes of shrink wrapped amiga software.

That included a whole lot of CD32 software (CD's) and a CD32 in the original box.

This time around my friend Tony is cleaning out his office and says he will bring down any amiga stuff if he can make it. He says that includes some SCSI drives.

That's on top of anything else that Damien has already listed.

If we advertise a bit (we didn't advertise much last time) then even more people will turn up... and who knows what will go under the hammer.

In fact most stuff got snapped up and we never got around to auctioning anything (nothing left to auction).

A quiet alias you say? It must be a hidden alias.

Meeting went rather well.

The A1 got snapped up for a measely $350... and it was fully loaded with hardware and software.

Still it went to a good home.

Some kind person donated a whole ton of stuff including hardware and (very good) software... which went off real cheap.

So overall there was TONS of software and a reasonable range of hardware.

The bargain of the day (other than the A1) was probably the network card that went off for $50... although a Quicknet card also went off quite cheap.
