Software News   Software News : V.A.M.P. 0.91 for all Amiga systems
   posted by Templario on 27-Dec-2012 12:26:34 (2825 reads)
Available for donwload the new version of V.A.M.P. v0.91 the Virtual Amiga Multimedia Player.
V.A.M.P. is a player programmed with Hollywood and plays movies, animations, songs, show pictures, and it only needs the Hollywood plugins and datatypes to work.
This new version is available for Amiga OS4.x, MorphOS, AmigaOS3.5-3.9 and AROS and Windows too.
donwloable from here:
www.vamp.es

This new version corrects some bugs.
The AROS version isn't tested and for other systems as MacOS PPC or Linux, I need tester for them.

Thanks but you might want to remove the screenshot of the obviously pirated copy of the hobbit...

Hi Templario,

Tried downloading the AROS version (using AROS OWB) but got this message:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock' (2) in /home/domeny/dstats.net/web/subdomeny/www/db.php on line 2
Database problem : Couldn't connect !

Getting the same message for OS3 & OS4 download links too.

Nigel.

Hi,

I've tried to get this to work on MorphOS but I just get some scrabled sound and no video.
Any idea what can cause this ?

I've tried a lot of files but none have worked for me sadly...

@Develin
V.A.M.P. uses Hollywood plugins in Amiga versions as only way to play video and sound under Windows also it use the video codecs installed in your system.
downloadble from here http://www.hollywood-mal.com/download.html

Hi Templario,
Thanks for the direct link - using that it downloaded fine. I can confirm V.A.M.P. works on AROS - tried with video (AVI format), pictures (JPG) and audio (MP3 and WMA). Really nice & easy to use. One small point, it didn't pick up the aspect ratio of the pictures correctly, but that's a small thing.

Cheers,
Nigel.

@ntromans
Thank you for your reporting it is a big help for me because programming to AROS without test my software is a lottery.
About the problem, yes, this is my big problem with pictures and videos adapt them a good size when they are biggest, because in a example the KingTiger the picture has a big size, and V.A.M.P. had problems to show me, I have work in this point and much.
