software OS4   software OS4 : FFmpeg 1.1.3 now available for OS4
   posted by MickJT on 8-Mar-2013 14:26:02 (2834 reads)
FFmpeg 1.1.3 has been ported to AmigaOS4.

It includes thousands of improvements and support for a multitude of new decoders, encoders, muxers and filters.

Notable features are the ability to burn-in subtitles through the use of the new subtitles filter (via libass), and the support for converting and playing MOD/MED modules (via libmodplug).

Read more ---->

The first time the subtitles filter is used, a cache will be built by scanning the contents of Fonts:_TrueType

Amongst the new filters are audio resampling from any format to any other, scene detection, volume detection, super2xsai scaling, logo removal, deshake, temporal deinterlacing, smart blur and many more.

You can download it now from OS4Depot: http://os4depot.net/?function=showfile&file=video/convert/ffmpeg.lha

In case anyone is wondering, audio resampling is referring to the ability to adjust the amount of channels, Hz and bits between audio containers and codecs.

In the past you may not have been able to directly convert a 6 channel audio file of one format to 2 channel audio of another format, without first re-encoding it in the same format when lowering the amount of channels, and only then changing the format afterwards.

Solved...

Paths had some problems in unpack-script

In script path is "Generic PPC" as in archive they are "Generic_PPC"

Edited script everywhere Generic_PPC" and works now.

@mlehto

The broken internal LhA decoder does that. Use this one: http://www.unsatisfactorysoftware.co.uk/download.php?file=xad_lha

Could DVPlayer now be updated to display subtitles?

I have re-uploaded this to OS4Depot to use a fixed libmodplug (works with .med), and updated the Unpack script to set the executable flags on the files.

Great, thanks, but it doesn't look like you made a version bump. So we'll have to go by the date of 10March2013 to distinguish it from the earlier v1.1.3 it seems.

I'd agree with you, but then we'd both be wrong.

@Moxee

Ah, I didn't think it was that important to change the version arbitrarily. Do you mean in the VER: tag? I'm not sure what/where the best change would have been, and if you can use letters in the version field.

As for checking dates, I think the output of xdelta3-decoder will set a current datestamp on the files it creates. It's the same ffmpeg version itself, just relinked. The build date reported won't have changed either, and the filesizes (when unpacked) ended up being the same too.

It's just .med that was fixed. Other music modules (such as .mod/.xm/.s3m) were/are working fine (to the extent that modplug supports them).
