Software News   Software News : DigiBoosterPro 2.21 Download-Version released
posted by AndreasM on 8-Jul-2013 11:24:42 (3530 reads)
From today, DigiBoosterPro 2.21 is available in the online shop of APC&TCP at a discounted price.

Of course DigiBoosterPro 2.21 will continue as usual to be available on CD.

DigiBooster 3 is a music tracker. Its history has roots in the ancient times of Amiga. Amiga was the first popular computer having stereo PCM audio output. Then it had a potential to be used as a device for making music. This potential has been fully exploited.... (Please click read more.)

The Ultimate Soundtracker was the first in 1987. NoiseTracker was the second in 1989. ProTracker had beat'em up in 1991. Amiga was getting faster processors. Multichannel software mixing was a logical step forward. Tomasz and Waldemar Piasta have done this step in 1998 creating DigiBooster Pro 2. It has been later bought by APC&TCP.

afaik, this version predates OS4 (or even decision to make it in the first place), so I wouldn't count on it working, even if it's quite system friendly (I think it uses AHI at least)

More interesting than that would be to know what has this got to do with the in-development 3.x version, will it be free to upgrade to that? There are some restricted betas publicly available. If not, I can't see much point in buying the old version... Even if it is the latest release...

I registered DigiBooster2.something long time ago... I guess it is possible to get latest version? It costed me 50 DEM at that time...

Are you sure v2.1 is released? Wouldn`t be V3.1? V2 is ~20 years old... :S

well I'm curious to hear if anyone actually tried it on the latest OS4.1 updates via AmiUpdate. Perhaps even a short video to show how it works would be nice

@ klx300r

well I'm curious to hear if anyone actually tried it on the latest OS4.1 updates via AmiUpdate.

I can try it on Pegasos 2 with AmigaOS 4.1u6 + AmiUpdated. For now I only know that DigiBooster Pro 2.x works on MorphOS after patching it with DBProHelper, also kernel option invzeropage must be disabled.

On the other hand coming DigiBooster 3 works on latest AmigaOS without problems, public beta can be downloaded here.

Perhaps even a short video to show how it works would be nice

Unfortunately I have no camera for now (well, a crap inside my cellphone does not count).

Hi guys

I've just downloaded & tried. All works well here on update 6. It just crashes when changes resolution [also I can`t make Digibooster open on 1920x1080 - it keeps appearing in some strange resolution [but works "best" on 640x480]...]

Default AHI sound is stuttering so changing to my sound card makes sound all well. Songs playing from Digibooster3 demo plays in DB2.1 with less CPU.

Yes it is the same version I registered for 50 dem ~15 years ago :) but this one is beta.

Will there be any newer version of V3? I wish I could use Amiga for tracking again... But after Renoise tracker I don`t think it can be any closer to perfection...

(Damn... none of Amiga browsers [I tried them all] can allow me to login to deviantart account to upload snapshot :( And Mozilla crashes here, I will try to reinstall...)

funny a friend of mine said recently that he wished Renoise was as intuitive to work with as OctaMED S.S on the Amiga

Well I guess it is up to personal taste.

For example, I was producing music much faster in ProTracker [and in DigiBooster], thanks to their quick and single keys shortcuts [for play, forward, rewind] than OctaMED S.S. I really loved back in 1997 as it was very powerful...

But I never liked OctaMED's multiple clicks [and different shortcuts] than in ProTracker. To my view - Renoise is as fast as ProTracker and all shortcuts are the same [something like Adobe CS shortcuts between all programs and for example - CorelDraw that has its own shortcuts keys]...

I believe DigiBooster3 will be something to look into [when new version is released]... Old one is from March 2012.
