Great news!

Working towards common goals, unifying and channeling the resources will hopefully accelerate development and make it more consumer friendly both from a availability, compability, performance and pricing point of view.

I'm with You!

Fighting with old internal disk drives that came from Great Britain here to Finland makes me crazy. They don't work.

Not a dos disk or no boot with several A500:s. The last one with the A1200 and then I'll just give up and tell the e-bay guy I was conned. Nicely packaged with bubble wrap but now I have a lot of stuff that does not work..

Then the NG Amiga XE too. It's fixed now. Hyperion? A payment for a new OS with a net? ¨

Is it possible to put an external dd (or chain even two) to a minimig+ for all the disks that are lying around?

I'd order one immediately and think about this Cyrus+ v.2 ;)

Great news and yet another waiting game starts.

Howcome you guys don't have anything to say other than to make an announcement about a collaboration called One Vision - don't you think you should have thrown us a bone here - do you really think we enjoy the waiting anymore ???

We are too old and grumpy for that

So come on guys stop making these announcements without just a little bit to show off

edit: giving us a little bit, at least makes us know something about what we're waiting for

This One Vision thingy is just waiting without knowing anything at all...hate it

@jurassicC

You forgot Xena

But I totally agree a tablet would be nice...perhaps even more important than a laptop ?

I do love how people are going into a wishingwell frenzy over this announcement (reading the forum thread too).

With the development of Cyrus, radeon driver and Libreoffice I think they have more than enough to keep themselves busy.

Can ofcourse hope for new hardware announcements, but after reading the cost of development/prototyping I would be very suprised if they upped the ante even more before Cyrus is done.

i hope the collaboration includes :

hiring game companies or donating hardware to indi software houses for some games.

The Amiga in chrome is fantastic, we just need licence games and build our own steam website so games can play licenced ADF games online for a small fee.

Online digital content will always make an income, add indi developers to the mix with games bundles like humble bundle amiga version we can show the world our games and add new content by any indi developer.

Once we have a proper system to buy cheap games and 'just work' non Amiga developers will want port their games too.

we need a central e-commerce portal for games and software.

also for A4000+ in FPGA system

Low cost cannot happen with the e5500. Freescale is not selling them for under 100 USD.

If Amiga wants to be LOW COST. you focus on CPU around 100 USD, that will push price in range of motherboard around 150 USD.

if we can get on board CPU, GFX, FPGA, MEDIA Processor for 200 USD we in effect have a console :)

Once you focus on getting motherboard price DOWN to around 150- 200 USD its more accessible to purchase.

Hire 20 - 30 developers from ODESK with a hardware for games scheme.

Focus on games development, complete game making suits like AMOS in SDL.

Windows compatible port tools or game creation suite on kickstarter or even clickteam export for OS3/OS4.

Amiga does not have a gaming community - so its loosing out on alot of sales.

We do indeed get old and are a little grumpy for waiting.

It's reality that if there is no good new generation of Amigas there will be no new generation of users.

Who would like the AmigaSpirit to die?
