Nice realease. I'd bet for it to be HD installed, in Amithlon fashion...
I suppose it's not possible ATM?

Cheers...

@AmiKit: thanks for the details.

There is one thing I don't understand though: the website states that "AmiKit itself is FREE. But you can contribute with whatever amount you feel it is worth. Thank you!"

Clicking on "Download" sends you to a webpage where you have to pay for it (the costs are supposed to cover usb key production key).

What if you already have an usb key and would only want to download the "Free AmiKit" and flash it on a key yourself ?

I certainly don't want another usb key: I already have tons of keys ;)

The fee aside from the usb key production, is ridiculous...IMHO..

I am glad you like it. HDD installation should be possible, according to this site at least. I've never tried it myself, though.

If you mean the 5 EUR fee, it includes packaging&shipping costs (registered mail, worldwide) and PayPal fee.

AmiKit is free, it always was and it always will be.
During the first distribution phase it's exclusively available on AmiKit USB Flash Disk only. The FREE downloads will be available later so you can use your own flash disk if you want, of course. Meanwhile, you can subscribe to the AmiKit Newsletter and email will be sent to you as soon as the free downloads are available. Thanks for patience.

Confirmed. AmiPUP can be installed to hard disk.

You could have AmiPUP boot straight into AmiKit by adding a short-cut for E-UAE in the start-up folder on AmiPUP and setting E-UAE to bypass the menu and boot full screen. Not perfect, I know. Plus, sometimes you have to manually log onto the network (especially if it is password protected) and E-UAE/AmiKit lacks the logic to automatically set the screen resolution.

@Amikit

sounds good, is your vision that the usb stick that copies too memory would be very fast and the work you done on it would be portable, like unplug the thing, and replug on a laptop you have to continue your work there? if so, this is cool :)

I understand. On the other hand the AmiKit is about Amiga emulation on other computers/phones/tablets. And the website works there. This way it makes sense to me. I think the complaint should be addressed to the developers of Amiga browsers instead.

That's just an excuse for shoddy webdesign. A website should degrade gracefully, and so abe functional (information readable at the very least even if not laid out in a pretty way). THis is in fact esential for SER let alone running in non CSS browsers. The opposite approach can be used too where the site expands to use the capability of the browser it's running in (forget the buzzword for that).

Good luck with your usb key thingy though

In principle yes, but time is very restricted for me, I have a heap of programming activities allready.

No, sorry, I don't do webdesign for free for anyone but myself, not even for family
