Announcement   Announcement : Melbourne Amiga Nightclub swap meet and auction!
posted by Hypex on 3-Aug-2014 15:28:43 (2389 reads)
Hi guys. Yes, this Thursday night, it's on again.

The Melbourne Amiga Users Group of Victoria, Australia will be hosting a swap meet and auction. We will also be having our annual AGM so are set for a busy night!

"MAUG. We meet at night."

We expect to have an assortment of software and hardware on offer, including two A500's and an FPGA board. As well as what people bring to swap or sell. Or even give away.

If you are a local and can make it on the night then please do and enjoy the fun of the Melbourne Amiga scene.

Don't let the AGM scare you off. This only lasts for 5 to 15 minutes and you need to be a financial member to be involved anyway. MAUG appreciates your support either way.

Aside from this I plan to demo Ambermoon as reviewed in Amiga Future and also plan to demo Amiga Future magazine and the cover CD.

When?
This Thursday, the 7th of August, in the year of our Amiga, 2014.

Where?
Kellaway Ave Neighbourhood Centre.
5 Kellaway Ave, Moonee Ponds, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

Map

What?
Time does it start? Oh. doors open 8:30 PM.

Cost?
Entry is $3. If you sell something we ask that you pay $2 or a fair percentage of the sale towards the club.

Hope to see all the locals there!

Good to hear the Melbourne club is still going! I haven't had an Amiga for years, and AUGWA wrapped up quite a few years ago. Get a bit nostalgic and come here to Amigaworld for a read :)

Sorry for delay. Yes there were some interesting things on the night. We didn't end up having a main auction but things were sold on the sold on the night.

There were tables full of boxed and CD Amiga games and software. Other tables had various hardware and Zorro boards on offer. And other electronic items.

But the main star was a souped up A500. This was up for sale and went for close to $200! The ole A500 is susrely keeping it's value.

I never ended up doing my Ambermoon demo as I had downloaded it somewhere but couldn't find it and it was not found on the AF CD. I then was going to demo Putty Squad but the WHD installer I downloaded doesn't make it easy to install off disk images. For some reason, though the install script supports it, you have to modify it and make a guess to a selection inside as to what specifies disk images. I played around with it but it just kept breaking so gave up. This goes against the instructions and programs I downloaded that said it installs off disk images, but no, it doesn't. That's another story. Wait, the story is here.
