While I very much welcome their commitment for the Amiga platform in general I would love to see "some more" commitment to get working drivers for their hardware, like the OS4 ethernet driver for the X1000.

Why is network support on os4 so poor no descent WiFi and now I here built in network port in x1000 is not working. I hope all sockets on x5000 are supported at launch.

It works. It even works well for some people. But it isn't perfect and can't be released yet.

AFAIK: This is because there is no onboard sound hardware on the x5000, which makes sense in my eyes as PCI soundcards are well supported and cheaply available.

Pretty sure there is no legal reason not to put in a good word
but from what I read plan is same as always , make hardware
and bundle 1 copy of AmigaOS4 per unit.I don't think it will
help much , i was kinda under impression that said company
was maybe important to said hardware ?

I wish we get audio drivers for RadeonHD. It would solve more than one issue...

(modern freescale chips tend to lack i2s for audio, but it can be solved via various ways... interesting solution would be a xorro card with audio + xena prototyping options integrated. Perhaps Arduino shields compatible even....)


btw. Does RadeonHD audio work on PPC Linux?
(I may have asked before, but I've forgot it)

Yes.
working on Sam460ex with video cards up to Radeon HD 6670 and Kernels up to 3.19.x .
Problems with Radeon HD 7000 and up and also with kernels 4.0.0 and up.
