News   News : XAMOS author Stephen Harvey-Brooks (Mequa) has passed away
posted by MickJT on 19-Jul-2015 13:12:12 (5064 reads)
I'm sad to inform everyone that Stephen Harvey-Brooks, aka Mequa, passed away on July 3rd due to complications during an operation to change a pacemaker. He was a member of most Amiga related websites and known in this community for the cross-platform AMOS BASIC interpreter, XAMOS.

Outside of this community, he was heavily involved in debate on Epicurean philosophy. He would have been 33 on the 18th of this month.

Condolences to his family and friends.

I didn't know him other than from assorted forum sites, but he always seemed like a friendly sort of guy.
Only a young bloke too. Very sad.

It looks like he only ever posted once on here, but he was a bit more active on MorphZone/AROS-Exec/UltimateAmiga. We'd chat on Facebook about many different things, and others may have also met him through Amiga based websites. I hadn't talked to him in a few weeks and found out from his mother on what would have been his birthday

May he rest in peace! Another loyal Amigan who now is buried in the boot(loader)hill...

Was just coding on AmosPRO this week, first time in a looong time... Got lots of flashbacks from the past, and not all of them were negative.

Very sad to hear, and that age, only a year older than me, make me think to live life to the full, scary, the Amiga will out live us all! R I P
