| Weird. An engine who's main purpose is to enhance visuals using pixel and vertex shaders and enhanced lighting on a system too weak to run it well and with no pixel shaders, vertex shaders, nor decent lighting effects.
Pretty near to the very definition of pointless. Looks pretty ugly compared how its supposed to on a system capable of running it as intended. OS4 being sub par to run it as intended aside, it can look quite nice. Running this os4 version and AROS version side by side and a person would be excused for thinking them different engines. Visually its like chalk and cheese. The only problem with AROS version is it seems to have memory leakage and it can drop to under 300fps at 1920*1200*32bit. Granted, not a problem in use, but when the leak isn't interfering its about 550. That's a big difference. The leak does correct itself and frame rates rise to back over 550fps, but nonetheless it does exist. |

| If it can run Nexuiz Classic or Xonotic there's still a use for it. Although these are probably only playable by the X1000 and future X5000 users, due to the heavy CPU usage of MiniGL plus the engine. _________________ This is just like television, only you can see much further.

| I can't get this to work, what am I doing wrong? I have downloded and expanded to RAM: but when I double click goes to another screen and then quits to WB! What do I need to do to run the game? Thanks in advance and have a very Amiga Christmas everyone _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card.

| Runs perfect, although the readme file says that the game will crash when you quit it, but this doesn't happen to me. _________________

| I need some info. I have an X1000. What "3D" cards are available? as in how do I get one? I haven't been into games so I'm clueless. _________________ ..effects of civilization upon...nature, the growing gap between what education was supposed to accomplish and what it consisted of, the national debt and...high taxes, the problem of the excess cost of medical care -- Philip Wylie, 1951

| 7770 and 7850. OK. I'll see what's around here. It's not about performance. It's easy as pie to get 100+ fps @1920x1200 on a 10 year old pc out of Quake (heck I get over a thousand for "normal" quake on my 5 year old aros box). What I found strange was that someone would bother porting an engine, whose sole purpose is to add vertex and pixel shading effects, plus enhanced lighting on a system that has no pixel shaders, no vertex shaders, and 20 year old lighting effects. What you're left with is something completely different to the intention of the engine in the 1st place.
It may run well, but its not running an engine that comes close to resembling anything like intended. Ergo, seems pointless.
As Bszili said though it does allow you to play some mods specifically tailored to the engine, so that's something at least, even if they end up being completely sub-par renditions. Last edited by fishy_fis on 02-Jan-2016 at 01:15 AM.
