Is it so that these new MUI versions are no go with real amiga hardware?

The only reason to use MUI4 on anything but MorphOS is Odyssey. If you don't want that (or it's not available for your platform) you don't need MUI4: no other AmigaOS 3/4 application is using it.

Plus there's the fact they're stealing their documentation from MorphOS and keep ignoring the complaints of the MorphOS developers.

Stay clear of MUI4.

Also muimplayer port from morphos. Have all that fancy menues and co, and use some of mui4 classes. And maybe i someday finish vpdf port :) And, i almost sure, Andreas with his Hollywood use mui4 for muiroyale as well for mos and os4. At least he from time to time bugreport on muidev.de, which mean he use it as well for Hollywood.

Pluse, mui4 give much more control over whole look of mui apps: frames and ability to use any kind of images comes to mind among other stuff.

It's shareware - and registering it is hardly possible these days unless you're willing to transfer the money and then pirate the same key everybody else has been sent for years anyway. It's violating other people's property. It clearly looks and feels different to OS4's native GUI system and it's likely to produce (even) more applications (should there ever be more new applications developed for OS4...) that do not really use OS4 specific features.

But hey, it's configurable...

Also all utility into the zTools package needs MUI4 ..
