Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to announce the immediate availability of the space-combat simulation Descent: Freespace* for AmigaOS 68k/WarpOS and AmigaOS 4.1 Final Edition from the direct downloads section of our website.



The much improved update is free for current owners of the original release.

I don't believe it. This is good news for PPC gamers. Maybe ten years overdue but it's here.

What's next? Heretic? Compatible with a Sam 440?

This is awesome! I've played this game through many times, first on my a4k, then on my a1 xe and I probably will again hehe :) .

I wish that Freespace 2 would run as well as the first version but it's too slow to be playable on the xe. Maybe if I lower all the settings. I guess that the Friedens put a lot of effort into optimising that game.

I also think that the original sourcecode was made for systems running at 200MHz whereas the Freespace 2 sourcecode are based on open source which works on a PC offcourse but is too slow for the XE to handle.

Anyhow, I love the ports that Hyperion did nad I love seeing them being updated .
