Amigaworld.net News   Amigaworld.net News : Skrolli International Edition magazine now available (with Amiga stuff)
posted by jtsiren on 26-Sep-2017 8:32:48 (1312 reads)
Skrolli is a computer culture magazine by the hackers, for the hackers. Run mostly by volunteers, the magazine has been covering DIY computing, demoscene, programming, electronics, oldschool and various rarer and non-commercial angles on computers since 2012 in Finland. Nowadays there is also the English version of the magazine, which was launched earlier and now has a new issue out!

If interested, check it out here: https://skrolli.fi/international

But the big question, this magazine, does make Amiga articles in all issues? because this cover about Amiga, well, this is a typical fish hook for Amiga fans.

A fair question!

Skrolli is a genuine computer culture magazine in the sense that it covers all areas of computer culture and "the scene" - Amiga is not there for show, but it is also not an Amiga magazine.

Skrolli covers the entire spectrum of the computer hobby with a time agnostic perspective - future, history and present-day included. The Finnish version of Skrolli magazine features Amiga topics in many of the issues, but not all.

As for the English magazine, it is currently sold only as individual copies or a bundle of the two existing issues, so there is no risk there - you are not committing to any future purchases. If you like and want it, what you see is what you get. :)

Out of the English issues, the second issue, 2017.1E, contains Amiga stuff, the first issue, 2016.1E, does not directly (there are some Amiga references).

Table of contents:
2016.1E: https://skrolli.fi/numerot/skrolli-2016-1e-international-edition/
2017.1E: https://skrolli.fi/numerot/skrolli-2017-1e-international-edition/

There is also a free English sample of the types of content Skrolli has:

Just bought both issues which came really quickly too. A really good magazine. Some really interesting articles. Some Amiga and C64 stuff in the 2017 issue but both are quality magazines worth buying. Marketed as not retro - but 'computer culture' magazines - you won't regret buying them.

Great to hear! :)

By the way, for anyone who would like to see more, there is now a new form to register interest for more issues - just so that people can be informed upon news (no spam):
