I think the "Queensland" (Brisbane?) Amiga user group has less than 10 people in the yahoo groups list.. I was going to go to an A1 demo last weekend but couldn't make it.

I'll be dragging as many people kicking and screaming to the OS4 demo though

@Xeron

There was something about one of the UK Usergroups organising something, but there has been little news on that front so I assume that they were unsuccessful

The Melbournean Amigans still have to get organized before they can be in this 'party':

In the '90s Melbourne had about the LARGEST numbers of Amigas in Australia, yet AmigaFest98 failed, and had to be scaled back to ONE DAY (from Sat-Sun), because of a lack of support from the locals!

I know that I was surprised at that since I had flown from Brisbane to be present!

Much work for PPC-Linux and OS4 is being performed by dedicated people in Sydney, Caloundra, and otherplaces.

@ vortexau, yes, however you must remember that we are currently in the grips of a ferocious wintry spell down here at the moment, kinda takes away from our concentration on the main thing in our life, ie Amigas, plus the whisky to keep warm (with a bit of moonshine to keep things going... oh shut up CI5 ... (You are right Vortexau )

@Toaks

Considering the venues that these events are going to be held, I guess the organisers are expecting a fairly sizeable turn out. . I would hazard a guess that it would exceed the numbers seen in Europe. Just a guess though.

@vortexau
I know the situation down here isn't the greatest, but with the OS4 show maybe things will start to turn around . (well you know the situation down here )

Not usre about two hundred but it is entirely possible. The Amiga seems to have a fairly healthy following in New South Wales and Queensland so it is entirely possible.

The hardest place to get numbers will be Melbourne if a show does ever go ahead. Still there are Linux users who would be interested . Hell, if a show for Melbourne gets the go ahead the city will be plastered with OS4 show posters .
