| Wow!! Nice one getting them in stock
However, it's the equivalent of £411.65 and therefore a bit rich for my blood!
What would the cost of P&P to the UK be so that we can see the total price? _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios

| Yes the price depends on the situation caused by the Covid (price of electronic components from China &co...)! To have an exact answer on the costs and the total price, please contact directly Relec. Thank you |

It looks like we’ll hit extra EU tariffs on imports too by the time this is in stock! I guess they want to punish us for thinking we can leave the European Superstate (read: Empire) without feeling the force choke at our neck! Last edited by BigD on 10-Dec-2020 at 06:25 PM.

| Switzerland is not in the EU, so these tariffs won't apply. Oh, and back then, when the UK empire controlled large portions of the globe, owning many countries (a bit like the EU but larger), the UK residents didn't complain about 'force' and 'choke'. Maybe other coutries did.... |

| Great news about the non-EU status of Vampire logistics!

Maybe some did but many others experienced well functioning public services, law and order and a vast network of still functional railways! The greatest travesty is that we were greedy i.e. East Indian Trading Company etc rather than focusing on using the common language of English that we brought to the world through the Empire to at the same time teach the Bible, using our engineering and medical knowledge to help with social reforms and focus on pointing people to Jesus Christ. Instead we forced many to go through the motions aping our own sometimes hypocritical church attendance. We advocated that they worship in the manner of an English country gentleman rather than letting them worship in their own culturally appropriate way if and when they came to Christ!
It is such a shame that our nation is so petrified of being judged for historical failures and mistakes that we don't even teach the history of the British Empire in our own schools! I thought we were supposed to learn from history?! The only thing we're allowed to be proud of is the NHS and our pharmaceutical industry it seems!
But will the wasteful bureaucracy, unfairly weighted proportional representation mess of a democracy and misplaced anti-American grandstanding of the EU be remembered in 100 never mind 400 years? Maybe as an example of a twisted 1984 experiment gone wrong; "We were rich but we were told what we should spend it on by our federalists overlords! Oh how happy we were or so they told us!"
... anyway, good news about the Vampire V1200 Last edited by BigD on 10-Dec-2020 at 08:07 PM. Last edited by BigD on 10-Dec-2020 at 08:02 PM.

| I hope you have secured a longterm agreement to keep producing these, the year long wait some have endured is woeful. _________________ 4000T/BFG9060 CD32/Elsat ProModule, TF360 CD32/ Edu's CD32 <> A1200 Adapter, Vampire V2 CD32/ FMV Module

| I note that no-one has mentioned what happens, if anything, to people already waiting many months on the original Apollo registration list. It would be grossly unfair for others to be able to buy a V1200 before those pre-orders were fulfilled, especially since those lucky few posting pics of their newly received Vampires on the Facebook Vampire group page in the last few weeks have said they registered as recently as January and February this year. So 9-10 months later, they’ve been contacted to make their purchase. I registered only after I knew I could pay for one, in May. Does that mean people might be able to buy one through Relec before I get contacted by Apollo?
What do the Apollo team have to say about this? |

It’s just the free market at work. Relec are the customer here so they waited in line for their multiple units to sell on as a reseller. You can view that as the end users skipping the queue but in reality Relec have waited in line like everyone else but with a authorised reseller agreement in place. Seems fair to me. _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios

| ... it’s also an encouraging sign IMHO that there’s a fair sized market for the V1200 and for once an Amiga hardware product (other than the X5000 or AmigaKit Mcguffins) will be held in stock however briefly!
Plus there will be a slight mark up for Relec so either wait in line at Apollo Team HQ or cancel your interest and buy from Relec instead for a slightly inflated price! Consumer choice for once
It’s a lot better than what’s happening with scalpers on eBay and delivery lorry robberies occurring with the PS5 Last edited by BigD on 12-Dec-2020 at 10:25 AM.

| It is about having the freedom to make our own laws, control our own resources/taxes/immigration/economic levers. It is also to have the ability to have full and binding UK parliamentary democracy mandated decisions over what our taxes are spent on rather than paying the EU and then having hand outs like the EU Development Fund money and EU Rebate paid back to us like we’re teenagers getting back our own pocket money and told to spend it on what our parents want us to! We will still need and want immigration but will have a controlled and recorded points based system rather than a free for all as is currently the case. The EU borders are porous and the current system allowed IS terrorists and other individuals who threaten our national security to move freely throughout a whole continent after gaining entry through Turkey or Italy!
The Commission quango-led law proposing executive is a deeply undemocratic institution with the Parliament reduced to a rubber stamping ‘echo chamber’ of unfairly weighted MEP representatives who are generally elected into office with a dismal approximate 35% voter turnout in the UK on average and only 42 to 50% across all member states! Democracy at its finest it isn’t as shown by the EU’s pompous disdain for the UK’s demands to be respected as a sovereign independent nation state. Do they demand fish from Canada in exchange for their trade deal?
Thanks be to God Relec, Switzerland and hence the Vampire distribution chain in general won’t be affected by this mess. Last edited by BigD on 12-Dec-2020 at 11:26 AM. Last edited by BigD on 12-Dec-2020 at 11:15 AM. Last edited by BigD on 12-Dec-2020 at 11:12 AM.

| @BigD The control of borders don't avoid the terrorist entry, the problem in this case is the free circulation of citizens of Europe, more the taxes when you buy something in UK or vice versa, RELEC is in Switzerland, but remember that the other Amiga companies are in UK and in this side, AmiKit there the Europeans will pay the taxes, but in your cases? ACube, Amiga Future, AirSoft Softwair, etc. and the problem for Amiga hobby will be the measures that in UK and Europe take with the abrupt break between the two sides. At moment here in the supermarkets the Worcester sauce is sold out to avoid the presumable rise, and some british citizens have sold their houses in the south of Spain. This situation I don't think it benefits to some side, only to politicians, and the Amiga hobby we will wait. |

| That’s fair enough - if they’ve waited for their order the same as everyone else then I’m satisfied. It’s a niche market and I’m grateful for every effort being made to keep it alive. |

| Cool!
Would be nice to see in real life.
I wonder why noone makes something like this as a chip, like a real CPU. Would be much faster than when run on an FPGA. Clocked at 2GHz or something, made with 28nm technology or something, with the features of this 080. _________________ - Don't get fooled by my avatar, I'm not like that (anymore, mostly... maybe only sometimes) > Amiga Classic and OS4 developer for OnyxSoft.
