Software News   Software News : LANClip 0.3 released, windows client available
   posted by xeron on 27-Sep-2003 15:34:23 (2416 reads)
LANClip 0.3 has been released. LANClip is a small utility that lets you share one global clipboard between your networked computers.

Also, there is now a Windows client.

Download them from my website.

New features since 0.2:

* Swap between local and shared clipboard with a hotkey
* New icons from Martin "Mason" Merz
* Updated prefs editor

Cool, so this works like a "drawing board" or virtual "server"? Am I understanding this right?

No... it shares your copy/paste clipboard.

So you could copy a URL from AmIRC on your Amiga, and paste it into IE on your PC. Or copy a brush in personal paint onto the clipboard, and paste it into iconedit on a totally different amiga.

I sometimes wish my KVM switch was capable of storing clipboard info when I switch between two machines

Well, if the computers are networked, LANClip will do that for you.

Oh is that right? You can actually copy text from your Amiga to the clipboard and paste it at the PC end? I was under the impression that it would only work Amiga to Amiga.

I have a PC networked to my Amiga via a LAN... I'll try that now!
