AmigaOS4 beta-tester Elwood has written an AmigaOne review which includes some videos, including one of the alpha version of AmigaOS4 booting on his AmigaOne.

Also NeRP recently uploaded some AmigaOS4 on AmigaOne screenshots: AmigaOS4 online and Internet Preferences.

Seemed pretty nippy to me, have I been using windows for too long?

Anyway, great work Hyperion. I'm sure the final version vill have my ears flapping from the speed.

That's the whole of two frigging weeks worth of work, and no "big surprise", and obviously, we were capable enough of making OS4 a reality on both the CSPPC, *AND* the AmigaOne.

You are to programming what Tiger Woods is to Golf !

Keep up the good work.

I'm not a betatester either. Damn shame, if you ask me

Using "voltage" instead of "potential", which leads to inventing new words like "amperage" instead of "current" (I, measured in A) or possible "charge" (amperehours, Ah or Coulomb, C). Sometimes I don't even know what people mean.

I was thinking the same. And I _haven't_ been using Windows. Maybe Linux _IS_ so slow I get used to silliness after all. Hmm, come to think of it, yes it is. My Access loaded up Pagestream 4.1 with no problems, and I could use it.

On the 2.2GHz P4, Pagestream also loaded up, but seemed a tad slow. MUHAHA!

Oh well. At least it can encode mpeg4 a whole lot faster. But that's just because there's no waiting-loop in mpeg4 encoding, I guess.

All computers wait at the same speed, you know.
Which possibly explains why the AmigaOne is in X before LILO has prompted me on the office PC. A colleague commented on this earlier this year. He has a dual Xeon 2.8 or something, which takes bloody AGES to boot. My AmigaOne was in bloody OpenOffice before his was even thinking about loading Linux from the harddrive. And OS4 looked FAST compared to Linux _on the same hardware_. I am thinking we might have something going here

Well, no, of course not. It's censored, remember, making it kind of hard to see.

tsk :)

LOL elendil, but I was actually referring to the number of letters displayed (whether rubbed out or not); I couldn't stop laughing with that "tsk" remark
