It has.

However, don't read too much into my statement. If OS 4 where to run on a STB, there would probably be no workbench running on it. On a kiosk, it would run some special application as well. On a PDA, you would also need a workbench replacement.

That is pretty obvious.

Obviously, but the low memory footprint and the clean and simple API would make AmigaOS an attractive PDA platform.

While that is pretty obvious, I kinda get the feeling that is what makes OS4 what it is, is Workbench. So AmigaInc would go and put in some other Operating Environment instead of Workbench. Hmmm....Could we see the return of the Amiga OE?

I guess they need programmers to make this pretty little front end they're going to put on instead of Workbench. One would hope it's not the same one/s that did the website.

So an Amiga based PDA will probably not look Amigalike and probably have some sort of menuing system. Is Hyperion building one, like a workbench lite?

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

Would Directory Opus work there, or are they about the same size?

Either way, if the powers that be aren't currently concidering the PDA market, they should. I am very attracted to the things, but haven't bought one because I can't bear Windows any more than I have to.

As long as the PDA has a high enough resolution (e.g. 640x480) and a keyboard, it shouldn't have any problems running workbench. Obviously Workbench is not what the PDA market needs, but for me, I'd prefer to have the same setup as my A1, only in a portable case. This would allow be to continue software development for OS4 anywhere I happen to be :)

Hmmm, maybe that wouldn't be so healty... :)
