As for the case I wonder if TheDaddy will ever finish the sleek one for Sam (he did the now famous minimig's).

Don't forget to install RunInUae which seamlessly integrates hassle-free classic emulation into OS4.1 (latest release is very good with expanded left click menus and floppy sound emulation!)

nope. this is my very first amiga. between the interface, the customization capabilities, scripting in REXX, and all those great games from the 80s and 90s, it seemed the way to go.

As a new user, the amiga could be, maybe, hard to approach (mostly depending of the person itself - interested and open or just blinded). Don't hesitate to ask on forums after help (and precise It's your first amiga).

Also, your feedbak, as a new user, is verry important. Having your feedback sometime is intersting for all of us

I was wondering that too...I am starting to realise that this project is bigger than anything I have ever done...and I am also slowly running out of money...argh! Time to put some more stuff on ebay.

You need to get OS4.1 registration key from the former owner, and you need to send e-mail to Hyperion to transferee the OS4.1 license so you can download updates when they come out.

I think its easier then Linux, but Amiga does require some commitment,

Uboot BIOS is what I think most AmigaOS4 users have problems whit, not easy as PC BIOS, anyway if he need help, then he can just ask and lots of good and bad advice.

Indeed you will need to register to download and install AmigaOS 4.1 Update 1 (an absolute MUST).

Since you seem interested in classic games (I am a nutso in that regard ) you might also consider using a CRT monitor with your Sam, that way, through the use of non-double scanned screen modes, you will be able to get the native A500 look (no blocky pixels).

Welcome!

I have Seagate 2.5" 7200 rpm drive in my SAM and it is totally silent (at least to someone who has gone through anti-tank missile gunner training ). The transfer speed is above 90Mb/second according to diskspeed test.
