Not strictly true. Rogue stated last friday that, update 4 was on its second release candidate and if the testers didn't find fault with it, we would have it around the middle of the week.
Obviously there was something that needed fixing.

@Tonton_Pascal

we are still waiting 'coz preparing update #4 for the general user takes time.
they are wrapping it up, writing the installer, making an iso and then sending that iso out to the beta testers. all this has been done according to rogue, he got back a list with bugs and stuff that was a bit bigger than he had expected, and obiously he/them had to fix those bugs, and make a new iso, send it out to the beta testers. This is where I _think_ we are now! Hopefully the betatesters won't have anything to report about this time, and the update will be out shortly.... me can't wait. :)

edited upon request.

I think you seriously need to think about what testing means- using the word 'whine' in there is pretty much a nice slam, and I can guarantee it's better they find the problems BEFORE release compared to having a thousand users 'whining' about the same things...

PS- SpotUp, please 'fix' your avatar, or staff will, thanks.

You heard it here first folks! Any further delays in anything related to OS4 can henceforth be blamed on RoqueFort's "twins" fantasies, and an unconsious mild homophobic reaction on the part of the coders.

Make sure you show then your color sample!
(j/k)

Oh dear... have I scared the coders away? I noticed Rogue hasn't posted here for... well, I haven't seen him anyway!

If any of them are reading this, I was just kidding!!! Once straight, always straight!

I won't be feeling any sexual love for the coders, but I might just worship them as GODS! ...except that would obviously be buttering them up, which won't get OS4 finished any sooner!
Don't let's go again though, I think we're all sick of me and my (non-existent) sex life, especially me.

Maybe it would be healthier if you switched from an AmigOne to a CommodoreOne.

Erm... I don't know anything about the CommodoreOne, or the AmigaOne for that matter. I heard something, that the AmigaOne was dead, the hardware at least?

Yes, I'm very far behind on the news, I'll be putting that right as soon as I can.

OK, I won't ask; especially if I'm on the receiving end of that joke.

It's clever! Here was me thinking, "what, a Team member and a Cult member?" A graphical glitch surely?

Ok, apologies then. Yes, forums/written words don't always carry well, moreso when it may not be someone's native language. Sorry for the misundertanding. Please update your original post though, as 'whining' really comes off 'badly' in English

RE: Avatar- ohh, it was noted. I wanted to umm, change it to 'something else' on you without letting you know as 'paybacks'...but...

So final release is ready but not an update !! It a nonsense.

No it isn't, and if you would use common sense, you would recognize that whatever update we frigging put out WILL have to be tested, whether you like it or not.

Quote:
What bother me is that Rogue didn't said "we hope to release update #4 shortly." but "..WILL come out early January.."

This is, as it always was, to be read as "the plan is that we release update #4 in early january". Didn't work out, tough luck, get over it. Update #3 didn't miraculously stop working I think, now did it?

Quote:
So the question is : Is Final AOS4 ready ??

No. Plain and simple. Why should it? We don't have hardware. We're not going to stop working all of a sudden because it was Christmas 2005.

Quote:
f so, let's imagine Final transformed in Update #4 and Final release Update #1

Update #4 does not have everything we want in the final. We don't have the new memory system in there yet, because it needs more testing.

Quote:
Now let's imagine that Hardware was available for Chrismas 2005, does someone realy think that AmigaOS4 will have be available at the same time ??

Was there actual hardware available for Christmas 2005? Eh? No? Oh. So don't you think that is a rather moot point to discuss?

Sorry if I rather waste my time with more appealing stuff.
