| @nzv58l of course you can use lightwave on radeon's screens, like i do: 1024x768x16 for both modeler and layout, it's perfect. it work and it's stable, that great.
..only lacking feature is of course opengl preview support ;) now cobra, that's another chalenge ;)

The Lightwave that comes with the Toaster uses the Toaster board as a dongle. It might work stand-alone, but I'd bet you'd need some kind of "unauthorized" patch.
I, on the other hand, have finally made my T/F system a samba host and can happily render scenes from my A1XE using ScreamerNet. Unfortunately, most of my 'necessary' stuff has already been moved to LW7.5 on my PC. _________________ Tony T.

I can't get lightwave to change the screen mode. I go to options and choose 1024x768 (8 color) (that's the best available), but nothing happens! Only the page gets bigger and a large portion of it is out of screen.
Even the default screen (672x432) extends off the screen! I can't access the render botton. I'm using Lightwave 4.
Any idea how I can fix this?
Thanks, Firbodi

I'm at work atm, so you have to promote that screen, exept on Modeler, there you can set the screenmode.
For lightwave, use prog called "NewMode" or was it "ModePro" but any way, screen promotion tool, it ask you every opening screen do you want to promote or not....
Edit: typos & adds

Lightwave does not support RTG and you can't change the screenmode. You can use Screens Prefs to force LW's layout editor to be opened at any resolution you like. However Lightwave's modeler does support RTG and you can configure it to open with any screenmode.Last edited by COBRA on 13-Feb-2006 at 09:56 AM.

The RTG patch does not patch LW's editors, only the rendering preview. So to sum it up: For Layout Editor -> Use Screens Prefs to promote it to e.g. 800x600x16bit For Modeler -> Change the modeler config to use an RTG screen mode For Rendering -> Use patch from OS4depot |

I have tested that already but yet i haven't got that to work (i had 20 min time to test) Ok, that worked, but not like i'd liked that to work.
I have removed all P96 monitors from my system, and now i'm using only real Radeon modes, when i get to home, i'm going to test all little better..
And BTW. Imagine is fully functional, but when you set some textures (IM own) Grim pops up when that is calculating color for preview, but it allow to continue.. Rendering times are quite equal to my A1200 060.

| About the patch...
...trying to render no longer crashes (I never used it on my A1, but that's what people were saying it happened...), but displays fuzzy images. Weird lines, black and white. Any hints on why this happens and how to solve it?
Thanks.

Hi there,
Thanks for the tips. I installed ModePro and added the name of the lightwave program to it, and set it to use screen requester.
Now, lightwave opens on an RTG screen and I can reach all the gadgets. It looks so cool!
The only problem that I have is that now when rendering, I get a visit from grim.

I get the same result here too. But, if you set some output file to save the rendered image, the saved image looks alright.
