Yes, I _do_ have another interpretation, but you just said that you don't want to hear it. So...

Nice stats. You've got almost half of visitors not using Windows. But if you consider you're being read by geeks mostly, it's quite normal.

ps. I'm the Links/LINUX guy on the stats.

What is EFIKA anyway? Anytime I saw it mentioned before, I just assumed it was some internet abbreviation for some statement I didn't care about.

Well, please (!), we don't want to separate this all too much, but yes -- those are the operating systems running on the machines that have visited that particular blog. FYI, MorphOS shows up as "Unknown."

You always seem to miss the point. How about this:

What a computing platform "is" *is* going to change (you don't have to follow Genesi or use an EFIKA to participate).

When that happens *all* operating systems/application packages will be on equal footing *whether* they are "open source" or not.

How about giving a straightforward answer to my simple question?
Didn't you have anything better than this generic and philosophic stuff?
Once again, you missed a chance to give a clear explanation.

The key to this future is Community. Community does not suggest agreement, it suggests participation and involvement and actually works best with a diversity of views.

Why do you think you need to come here and teach the strenghts of communities in general?
In particular, you don't need to tell me that the community is important. You want to look like the one who opens our eyes, but I think nobody here is not aware that the community has been and is a key factor for the survival of the Amiga.
Moreover, I and many others *already* partecipate in a number of ways. Yours is just one. If you want to propose/promote it, feel free. But please do it a clear and professional way - no, your hints, pointers to blogs and sly comments do not qualify.

The stats actually tell us alot, particularly about the "Amiga" market. What is also interesting is the rise of Unix above MacOS. Plus, it is nice to see the Solaris visitors as the Solaris on Power port is about to be released:

Again, the message here is about the relevance and importance of Community.

To me those facts tell that people are using something else than AmigaOS to surf the net.

I myself use WinXp, MacOSX and Linux for surfing rather than OS4.

Have you ever sent an email to technologylicensing@amiga.com and asked for a license to get OS4 ported to Efika?

@bbrv

Your statement is pure BS

You don´t have many amiga visitors simply because the Amiga community is not interested in you!

What are you trying to prove? that the Amiga market is quite small compared to other systems????

Wahahahaa: Impresive news, boy!!

Let me tell you some more news for you: The Amiga market is even A LOT SMALLER than that statistic shows. SO WHAT???

We know it already, but it doesn´t mean a lot of those windows visitors would keep their wintel machines till die if there was a new good Amiga machine available. Even if it was build by your company. But it must be done under certain conditions that you don´t seem to get in all your bussines life.

I think the message is buy a computer from Dell and run Windows, because that is the most popular thing to do, but I am not sure.

I know if I started posting links to my gardening blog, it would not be allowed here on the front page. Even though my article on "How much bone meal to feed your tomato vine to get a good crop", is probably of about equal relevance to Amiga OS users as the stuff BBRV writes about.

I don't know why this is allowed to continue.

Btw is it true that mA1 aka AmigaOne Lite didnt have a license? And was not officially called AmigaOne because of that? Just like Troika board is not AmigaOne it doesnt need a license but money transfer to Hyperion (supposedly 20000 dollars/euro) to cover porting costs.

There are hundred thousands ex-users that still love Amiga but they leaved the platform as active users simply because the hardware and the state of things suck a lot.

They left because they found Linux and Windows and OSX more comfortable. Ex-users are a lost cause. They love their Linux so much that they ask is Amiga GPL'd yet.

Very interesting. They love Linux so much that they ask for Amiga.

Dear Sir, please inform us of the license terms for OS4 on all Genesi platforms, including the EFIKA.

For you to know, we also plan to reinitiate support for MorphOS simultaneously.

We actually think this will help the overall Amiga market and hope you agree.

Best regards,
Raquel and Bill
