If I write something and claim copyright, then it's copyrighted. Proving later that I am the one and original author of the material if challenged is another thing. Registering your material with the copyright office is good legal protection, but not needed to initiate a copyright. You would have to refer to the TOS of moobunny to find out if it's actually an infringement on their copyright to post clips of their threads. |
You can quote a % of any text given, I didn't cut & paste all the text... I quoted a small part of it.

Otherwise I might want to say "The above message is copyrighted by ME and cannot be reprinted without my permission". This could restrict my material even if AW wanted to give some one permission to reprint it. |
Perhaps not, I could quote part of it and word it up my way _________________ Indigo 3D Lounge, my second home. The Illusion of Choice | Am*ga |

Sure, references are cool when you site the source. But the source can still complain even about the small bits. In the end it's all up to a judge, lawyers and jury.
In the US it is a sticky business.

Thanks for the copyright info |
Hope it was helpful.

Just me being lazy..... ... the "user contributed material" I mentioned.
Some wording like.... "User agrees that all posted material becomes the property of AmigaWorld.net and subject to copyright terms included in the TOS..." Maybe such terms aren't needed or desired here. If you wanted to add some thing like this , don't quote me. Look up some legitimate legal examples to be safe. The US, EU, Ireland, UK and other counties all play by similar copyright rules, so it shouldn't be too tough to find wording that works for most situations.

If Helgis has signed an NDA with anyone, let alone Amiga StInc, I think the world as we know it is about to end.
You have to be mentally qualified as an adult to sign a contract, don't you?
I can't believe this thread exists, but.... thanks for the laugh. _________________ Are we not done with the same silly arguments and flames yet??! |
