Sorry. RR7 clearly has many improvements espcially with regard to details compared to RR6. Also in the reworked older tracks, but the improvements are even more apparent in the new ones. You are talking about some yet unclear problems under some upclear condition with one track created by someone taking a photograph of a TV screen and writing an article about that, RR fans owning both titles will back this up. |

Absolute and utter nonsense. I said the video is in 720p just like the other 360 vs PS3 videos on there.

I also found an interview there with EA, talking about there visual improvements compared to the Xbox 360 version. |
It would pretty much be shooting yourself in the foot, if you didn't claim your latest version was the best, wouldn't it?
Quote:
However the biggest enhancement between the two versions is a first person perspective option on the PS3. |
Another first person perspective. There was one on 360 already. But yes, that is a real new addition. Just kind of sad that they had to decrease the quality of the visual effects, have the usual PS3 frame rate issues and slightly lower quality of the boxers.
Oh, and it doesn't improve your credibility that you try to pass PS2 screenshots off as Xbox 360 screenshots..
Actual image - note the particles in the sunshine (not on PS3)
And another one...Last edited by Trezzer on 21-Dec-2006 at 11:01 PM.

Sorry but I'm highly doubtful that use of a camera would disappear a ship, reduce geometry, insert some jaggies, or effectively take the white caps off of the water. It could however explain some fuzziness or reduced shadowing.

Hello dude read the URL! media.ps3.ign and media.ps2.ign Those shots you claimed were 360 looked way worse then my 360 now I know why. They are the PS2 shots! I assume a simple mistake on your part.
Here are some more shots and play by play pics. A bit small but some details can be fleshed out between the same games on the 2 different systems. http://www.1up.com/do/feature?cId=3155393

That comparison was widely reported, what didn't make the news so much was the revelation that it was faked. Don't remember where I read it but there was an article somewhere which showed it'd been Photoshop'd._________________ Whyzzat? |

I did see one claim that, but I didn't see any compelling evidence that it had been. |

Er, what the...? Your XBox360 shots are PS2 shots. Here is a comparison with the REAL XBox360 graphics for this game.Last edited by AMiGR on 22-Dec-2006 at 01:52 AM.

Some XBox fans thought these videos only showed CG artwork, IMO that sounds like enough of a compliment. I looked at all the screenshots and sorry I don't think they show the same level of realistic detail and lighting as I have seen in GT5/GTHD shots. |
These unnamed XBox fans must be so anti-PS3 that they'd claim anything to undermine Sony, even though they're only undermining themselves. Rather as you are doing.
I'd hate Microsoft to beat Sony, but when faced with such belligerent fanboyish bias, I barely have the strength to refute what you say. Those GTHD screens are so inferior to what has already been seen on 360, that it pains me even to make a discussion out of it.

| One quote:
"There's no doubt that the PS3 version of Round 3 is the strongest of all of the releases when it comes to visuals....I hooked up the 360 version on one TV channel and ran the PS3 game on another, both CPU-controlled with the same match at the same arena. It was no contest."
Another quote:
"The PS3 still has great looking player models but the crowds are less detailed and the lighting effects are definitely inferior. If the graphical losses weren't enough, the PlayStation 3 version takes almost twice as long as its 360 counterpart to load into the menu screen, and a third longer to load a quickplay."
There's lies, damn lies, statistics ...and quotes.

Yeah. I like that they're doing the showdowns in front of larger crowds. The one with Fight Night R3 was apparently just the first title out of many. I tend to take it more seriously if it's a lot of people saying the same thing rather than a single person who may or may not have agendas.Last edited by Trezzer on 22-Dec-2006 at 02:17 AM.

I'm more convinced by that experiment than anything else. I don't know if it was a blind Pepsi Challenge style test, but I'd like to see it done that way.

The speed of the Blu-Ray drive is slower then the speed of the DVD drive on the 360. Taking longer to load into menus and gameplay has been demonstrated on a number of games. Of course one plus is the Blu-Ray drive doesn't sound like it's taking off when it loads.

| The one, I believe at the Apollo, was using a display that can split the screen between 2 inputs. It's likely as close as you could get to a blind test. The players would of course know they were holding a white 360 controller or black PS3 controller. Viewers, however, could easily be kept in the dark.
As for the Pepsi Challenge -- the amusement park here did that challenge. They keep the Pepsi in the cooler and the Coke warm outside of the cooler. Nice. |

I am sorry for you that you feel so heavily about this. I think next year you will be going through much harder times. With regard to longer loading times that's not strange considering there is more data to load from disc. However on the PS3 developers can easily reduce loading times as all PS3 models come supplied with a harddrive to take advantage of. |

I have a question, at such a highres as 1080 lines will anyone be able to see a difference between interlaced (1080i) and progressive (1080p)? I doubt it. Also not many flatscreens can handle 1080p, only the really expensive ones. |
720p in games and video usually looks better than in 1080i.
http://alvyray.com/DigitalTV/Naming_Proposal.htm
"1080i vs 720p: MOTION CHANGES EVERYTHING
Motion is different issue. If you want to see motion clearly, then live action 720p is what looks best, compared to 1080i. Here’s why: the information content of 720p is about the same as 1080i, though what it lacks in spatial resolution, it makes up for in temporal resolution (because the picture is at 1/60th of a second, not 1/30th x 2.) On 1080i, this would show as flickered or jagged edges on bright horizontal objects (like in the background of a camera pan.)"
