Was that really with or without the smiley face? That could mean anything!
Only 8 days left to find out. Is it too early to make fun, say Teron one more time and list excuses? I'm not sure of the public thrashing protocol._________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

In answer to your question. No, there is no news.
In response to all the speculation here.
WHO FREAKING CARES until a real announcement is made, and some hardware appears.

... or IBM themselves. Now THAT would be surprising! |
Maybe you aren't wrong at all..... Do you remember this quote form 25 questions with Bill McEwen?
Bill: "......We then went further and paid tens of thousands of more dollars to have OS 4 ported to the IBM PowerPC 405 embedded processor and had OS 4 running on the Arctic reference platform. This was in partnership with IBM and we were very excited about the prospects and looking forward to building several new hardware platforms in partnership with Hyperion. "
I bet that Amiga Inc. is strongly connected with IBM and that we will soon see Amiga hardware manufactured by IBM (or supervised). Maybe this will not be the first hardware announced in next few days, but surely Amiga Inc. sounds very decisive to present new hi-end product.
Anyway Amiga Inc. needs strong hardware partner, and if you ask me who would be better than IBM!? IBM is able to design and produce hardware in shortest timeframe!

I agree that that would in fact be quite sweet for the Amiga, but do you really see IBM getting back into the consumer electronics market after they sold/licensed off just about every consumer or even corporate end-user point device to Lenovo (desktops and laptops) and Neoware (Thin clients)? Did they ever have a PDA worth mentionning? And wasn't Lexmark (printers) an IBM spinoff?
IBM looking to take on Apple and Microsoft for the home and portable electronics/entertainment market? Maybe my crystal ball's just cracked or dirty, but I just don't see it.

No offense but thats crazy talk...
No way a big company like IBM is going to pick up a small company like Amiga to give MS and Apple a run for its money... It would be great just I don't think its realistic at all!
In my opinion its either going to be from someone who allready announced hardware (Most likely Troika imho) or someone totally new or who wasn't a player before...
Anyway I can't wait! I feel like a little excited child at christmas! _________________ A1200, 68060/64MB/1.2GB/WiFi/AGAtoCRT/OS3.9 Pegasos I, G3 600Mhz/512/9200SE/80GB WinUAE, Ryzen 5 2400G/Vega11, 8GB DDR4, 256GB SSD,Win 10 Pro x64 Amiga Forever ! |

Would you want to live in a world where it was required that every and any piece of hardware capable of running AmigaOS 4+ had to be referred to as "AmigaOne"? |
Of course not. *shudder*
I wasn't arguing for or against anything. I was only stating facts: Only the first two Teron models were sold as "AmigaOnes" (i.e. using Eyetech's exclusive "AmigaOne" trademark licence), while the last one was sold as an "A1".
I presume (maybe incorrectly?) that Eyetech however did (and still do?) have the unfortunately required "being allowed to sell AmigaOS bundled with 3rd party hardware" licence, regardless of what they chose to call the hardware they were selling.
The two different licences seem to be just that; two different licences._________________ Oh, bother. |

Me too! It's like when I told grandma I wanted that shiny fire engine, but all I'm expecting is either a pair of knitted socks, or a knitted scarf...
Socks or scarf? Scarf or socks? Ooooh, the excitement!

So it seems any computer which runs AOS4 must be tainted with the AmigaOne name. |
Not really. They can redefine their license scheme, parnters and product names any time they please as owners of the IP as long as they aren't violating any exsisting contracts ' that any one might contest'.
Emphasing that last part.
If by any stretch of the imagination IBM wanted to invest/partner with Amiga Inc, it would be easy to see some new press release announcing some thing like "The new AmigaAIX" (referencing IBM unix flavor for fun) if it suits them.

Surpisingly enough though Commodre does exist, again. |
Yes and unlike previously (and interestingly), their website is positioned more and more talking about Jack Tramiel and past hardware successes....
and this.....

Products due for release soon include a new generation of the Commodore 64 joystick, which adds game download functionality to the features that made its predecessor famous (direct connectability to TV and PC). Other products in the pipeline include game consoles for use with mobile phones. |
I see they are bringing out their own version of the 64. The mobile phone console sounds suspiciously like AmigaDE. It's not a leap of faith to imagine that they would be very interested in relaunching the Amiga desktop line using their own hardware and OS4. |

Forget about IBM.
They couldn't save their own Peecee which they invented. They 'gave' the OS to Microsoft and the hardware to the clone makers.
They certainly couldn't and wouldn't relaunch the Amiga (which they didn't invent). |

Most hardware manufacturers are more than happy for any number of companies to work on developing software for their hardware. I've worked "in partnership" with several companies, including AMD, HP and Intel - that doesn't mean that any of them have any great interest in what I'm doing, merely that the possibility that I'll do anything to improve their sales is worth more to them than the cost of the hardware and specifications they'll give me.
It's entirely likely that Amiga worked in partnership with IBM, but that partnership almost certainly involved little more than IBM providing Amiga with hardware, documentation and a certain degree of support. Total cost to IBM? Probably less than $5,000. Benefit to IBM? Even people on the edge of the Amiga scene are more aware of what IBM are up to, which has probably gained them more than that in sales.
But seriously, and just to emphasise the fact that this statement isn't very meaningful in itself - I write some amount of Linux code. I've never sold any software or hardware in my life. Right now, I've got a large pile of hardware and documentation that Intel have sent me for free. Am I working in partnership with Intel? I guess so, but that doesn't mean that Intel supports any mad business venture that I'm going to get involved in... |

The above would refer to SAM and would come from the SAM hardware developers.
Any other announcements are speculation atm.

Okay.
What block of ten days? Ten days between June 13 2036 and June 23 2036? The last ten days of measurable time before the last proton in the universe decays? WHAT?

Never mind that. m3x said 10 days. What planet are we talking about here? (Venus is a safe bet... 10 Venus days is ~2430 Earth days )
