Loved your satire.
Across cultural differences satire often flops. Too bad! I suppose everyone knows Hofnung's address to the Oxford Union on the subject of a bricklayer's monday morning? I hope so. I played a recording to a class here a few years back. While we were all flopping about with laughter a Korean student was looking increasingly astonished and revolted. At the end she got up and sternly rebuked us, "I don't know how you people can laugh so cruelly at another person's misfortune!"
What could I say? I happened to know that this very nice girl had a well developed and subtle sense of humour otherwise, but a gentle one.

| What Bill said:

1) Do you think Adam from ACK Software Controls, as a single person, is capable enough to create reliable OS4 compatible hardware?
We are very confident in his abilities, and we are very pleased with the progress that has been made so far. Adam is creating the reference products that will be manufactured by another company and they will be the ones that make the hardware.

Thanks. The intent was to put a smile on the Amiga situation. Better to laugh. _________________ www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

You owe me a keyboard. A new one. Now...
This one is filled with coffee and ... what the hell is that? I sure as hell don't remember breathing in anything coloured or shaped like THAT?!?!?!?

By the way it's a funny piece, I would advice you to print it out and read it calmly with a OS5 powered cup of coffee, you might smile. |
If a person doesn't think it's funny, telling them it's funny won't change their mind. Play to the rest of the audience.
I found a good part of it only mildly amusing, but I smiled at the "Who?" and Moana and Sam answers.
Noel is probably right about the cross-culture differences in humor._________________ Tony T.

Thank you for a very serious and sober-minded piece of journalism. You obviously have inside connections, and an understanding of the mind of Mr. McEwen, that the rest of us can only wish for... or perhaps wish to avoid. You are a brave man, and though it seems unlikely, I pray that you will survive this terrible encounter.

Not trying to force anyone to accept my piece as funny, his reply was:"Show some respect", I would like you to comment on that. _________________ www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

Now that's funny!
I didn't get that, indeed reaching more than one culture is difficult.
