dead simple tony. Coventry is on the main line from Birmingham to London. If you get a taxi from the station to Earlsdon it shouldn't cost you too much at all, maybe 3 or 4 pounds. You can probably barter with the cab drivers outside the station anyway.

@niceguy1979

Just checked the rail times / prices: 3hr 27mins - £59 return

Or drive: 2hr 41mins - £30ish (300miles of petrol)

Save 40mins and £30ish by driving.... car it is then!

@tonyyeb
and if you buy anything it's easier to store it in the car with out the other half knowing

And if anyone else from your area are going you can split the cost of fuel if they want a lift

If travelling is expensive, try the following site:

http://www.megabus.co.uk/uk/

This may be good for some travellers to get to Coventry cheaply.

@ all

Anyone travelling by train or coach may find the following web site useful once you arrive in Coventry

http://www.travelcoventry.co.uk/

The details on the venue in Coventry are on the MAG web site

I might be travelling over from Hull on the day, and a car share could save a few quid. Will need to check my calendar a little closer to the date, but looks very promising at the moment.

@all

I've been looking at various hotel search sites for anyone seeking accommodation.
One that caught my eye was

www.booking.com

Enter Coventry as the search and it comes up with 24 choices. One that seemed reasonable (£29.99 for a single room for 01-02 November) was the Hylands Hotel which is near the train station and is also about a mile from Earlsdon where the event is being held.

I have several options from didcot - conventry. But I need to know the exact location of this event ie postcode so I can plan the journy better. So far, travelling by bus seems to be the cheapest option but the bus stops at cannon park in conventry, how far is that to the event?

Unless anyone is willing to give us a lift?

I really do not fancy driving all the way up there, M40 gives me the shivers

I'm not gonna be in the UK for that weekend, so I'm out :( Some other time though, I've neverbeen to a proper Amiga user meeting seeing as I only caught the tail end of the Amiga thing in Ireland - I was too young when the last meetings were taking place in Dublin.

@Magic

I'm not a motorway lover so look for alternative routes. From Didcot your main roads are the A34 , A4260 (Banbury Road) and A423 which is approximately 68 miles. I've used this route to travel to Banbury and it's pretty straightforward. I think the M40 route takes you a bit out of your way so is probably a longer distance.

Hope to see you there as this is not an event to be missed !!

Am I ok to bring stuff to show? Like a Custom A1200? Or some stuff that I think people might want to buy? Does that sort of thing go on? Silly questions I know but having not been to a meet for a long time...

@ Daz: Get in touch if you are planning on going.

Hi Tony,
At the moment I am not too sure how many tables I have at my disposal. I will find out over the weekend how we are doing on that and let you know.

Are you working on something in particular? If you are working on something and want to show it off then it is more than feasible to arrange a table.

Remember that Amigakit are our main sponsors, so I don't think they would be overly happy with you bringing lots of stuff to sell.

@niceguy1979

Just wondered. I have an old A1200 case that I want rid of and a few other bits. But yeah I hear your point about Amigakit. Probably best left for a jumble sale!
