| This is great news, I really hope this ends the MorphOS vs AmigaOS battle and we get some of there programmers over to support AmigaOS.
Details on the pegasos are here,
http://www.genesi-usa.com/products
Do you think they need approval by genesi, to get the OS on there boards? I'm wonder would they bring the OS out on the Efika, but then that would be competition for Acube and them being the publishes I cant see it happing. _________________ AmigaNG, YouTube, LeaveReality Studio |

Given the fights, FUD and all the stuff of the recent years that's somehow pathetic, ridiculous or #? . Not to get me wrong, I welcome that move, but it has some strange, bitter-sweet side taste. Well, if I get bored enough I may consider to purchase a copy and give it a go on my Peg, but currently I am not bored enough. _________________ My programs: via.bckrs.de MorphOS user since V0.4 (2001) |

It indeed is somehow quite funny when looking back into recent years, especially considering personal war between Benjamin Hermans and Bill Buck which was devastating both MorphOS and OS4 communities.
But those times are gone now. Those who wish to use both MorphOS and OS4 can have it on same machine and if one does not like other disappointed user does not have to start selling his HW.
Too bad Pegasos has been out of production several years now.

We met Ben and Evert in July 2007 in Brussels. Here is a quote from an email we sent on 2 July 2007:
Quote:
BTW, after our pleasant discussions in Brussels, we hope there will never be another instance of negative remarks between us. We wish you the best of luck and hope the situation with Amiga Inc. evolves to your advantage. |
In the grand scheme of things, this port should have happened years ago. We hope Hyperion and ACube benefit as much as possible. The EFIKA should be the next target. We always thought this would be a great idea:
We should have some more good news for this community soon.
And, in case you missed it, the i.MX515 Developer Program Opens is our latest news. We write something more about this soon...

You're right. But my 1st impression when I read that new was just a WTF!! You know back in the days I was a bit involved to make OS 4 happen on the Pegasos. To strenghten the position of the Pegasos, to unite the OS4/MorphOS world and to give freedom of choice. But back then it was just impossible to make happen. Well, times change and, as it seems, they changed for good (as I said I welcome that move).
Anyway, my Peg, being a Peg1, is out of option anyway. But if OS 4.x for the Mac Mini pops out of the sudden now... That particular Mini sitting next to my Peg is not (yet!!) bluely tinted But it is desperately waiting for MorphOS .

Can't Genesi turn off the advertising machine for a split second! This is not your time. Now go post your own news item or just sit quietly in the corner already. Sheesh._________________ ExecSG Team Lead |

Not anymore. RoHS ruined it. But PegasosII schematics are freely available, so I don't know what it would require to re-manufacture them or modify to RoHS compatible.... it still would be the best Amiga-like system yet seen.
I'd really like Pegasos 1 version too. As it's pretty similar to AmigaOne, there wouldn't be much to modify in OS4 to support Peg1 too. Anyone knows if it could happen?Last edited by jPV on 31-Jan-2009 at 07:37 PM.

| WoW, good news. The more we pray the more life is breathed back into the Amiga Systems. Thank you all hard-workers and contributes out there. Most of all thanks God.
http://www.genesi-usa.com/ Any plans for an EFIKA version?

Its great news that Hyperion Supported - Hardware from a company that builds and supports the Amiga community. This is a big incentive for ACube & Genesi now to produce even more units. I like this path, i guess Hyperion saw it is a path of least resistance.
WOW Do we get AGP support???
Pegasos II - Specs * Micro ATX form factor (236mm x 172mm) * IEEE 1275 Firmware/boot interface * Marvell Discovery II (MV64361) System Controller * G3 or G4 PowerPC CPU * 184-pin 266MHz DDR RAM sockets * 1x AGP slot ---- WOW Do we get AGP support??? * 3x PCI slots with riser connector * 2x ATA100 IDE Channels * 3x IEEE1394 ports (400Mbit) * 3x USB 1.1 ports (12Mbit) * Gigabit and 10/100 Ethernet * AC97 Audio Subsystem o Stereo audio o Microphone o S/PDIF optical output o PC Gameport/MIDI * IrDA, Serial (RS232), Parallel (IEEE1284) and PS/2 (Keyboard & Mouse) * Floppy drive connector

| @meet.mrnrg Physically it's an AGP slot, but practically it's a 66Mhz PCI one, no sideband, no real AGP support. It's very similar to SAM440 Flex's 66Mhz PCI slot, but it has an AGP layout, because 5 years ago (when Pegasos II got released) compatible videocards were widely available in AGP layout. _________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!"
