My point made sense, I think.

Amiga Inc didn't pay us for WordMeUp sales we did.
After many requests, we still don't have money.

If they don't/can't pay a few hundred dollars, I'm not sure they can hire a team to develop OS5...

And yet another strike against them becomes known to us now.

It works both ways, an outside person can't say with any proof that it will be made or won't be made.

So what makes you so sure it will be made then? And why bring up again this now old news Q&A? Bill gives his contact email in that Q&A. Anyone who reads the whole thing now can see that in typical fashion, most of what was said would be coming, did not come to pass:

http://amigaweb.net/index.php?function=view_news&id=773

If you want new answers, get them from Bill, and then share them back here with us.

--{snip}---

Let's just say I think Amiga Inc. made several announcements in their attempt to create a new image to support their claims against Hyperion. I do not know if they ever actually intended to follow through with any of it. Afterall, an announcement is not the same as a promise.

Very sad. It seems that AI have screwed just about every Amigan that tried to help them. I wonder how long before Jamie K (of AVD fame) complains about not being paid (and of being fobbed-of for months that it was just around the corner)?

Oh, we all live and learn I guess, whether we are wise or not.

I, for one, thought that Bill McEwen and A Inc. might really get OS5 out - at some point.

It's been a couple of years and nothing has appeared, so I am outright against A Inc.

They were given my version of the 'benefit of the doubt' (and it's a generous/naive one at that - let me tell you!) and they have lost it.

Amiga Inc. is, without a doubt, the biggest lie on the planet. Their business is not even laughable - it simply doesn't exist.

@Al4

I need to clarify my previous reply.

In my humble opinion, Amiga Inc. made announcements about hardware and software specifically to add content to their website and to stir up public opinion against Hyperion. I do not know if the hardware ever existed, but I am quite sure that OS5 was a hoax ... er vaporware.

However, many companies and governments "float" announcements out to the public to test public reaction. This can be in the form of press releases or concept cars or even "leaked documents".

They must be due to go bankrupt soon, surely? I don't understand how any 'company' can survive for so long when it doesn't actually sell anything

Tried to run AROS recently on my DELL Latitude | D630... after a few seconds boot... the screen just stays blank... so much for my AROS experience :(

@NovaCoder

Good questions. There is alot of speculation and many conspiracy theories on this subject.

In fact, one of Hyperion's claims in their evidence against Amiga Inc. is that Amiga Inc. became insolvent and used various means to keep out of reach of creditors (including Hyperion itself). There was a series of transactions through which the original Amiga Inc. was transferred through several related companies to KMOS and eventually KMOS changed its name to Amiga Inc. Some of us call this a shell game, but others call it a perfectly legal way to transfer assets from one company to another.

In any case Amiga Inc. has a very unreliable track record, shrouded in stories of deception, scams, scandal, shell games, and litigation.

Sadly, we are seeing others in this thread who have not been paid by Amiga Inc.

@QuBe

Sorry for the OT. Maybe we can help you, but please post in another thread or at Aros-Exec
some more info about your hardware and exactly how the boot process went, was it a nightly or Icaros etc etc.
