Have tested the last build (this day).

a requester said:

caches: partition has xxxx block but theorically xx block.

like the caches partition is damaged. I have interrupted the boot and reboot fine with AOS4.

I've never seen that one, though I do not have any OS4 partitions at the moment. How many partitions do you have and which file systems do you use for them?

Also another problem.

using partherope, installed on the HD for booting. Choose with the keyboard to boot on the CD and all work well (the keyboard work).

the CDRW boot and I could choose 2 different aros but the keyboard not work on the second partherope ?????????

The second entry (AltUsb) does not use Poseidon USB stack but an alternative one Michal started to work on before Poseidon arrived. It is only there if someone wants to continue development on this alternative stack and it never worked for me.

In fact, who has made the Acube partherope and the AROS partherope ????
Is it the same ???

I assume the current ACube Parthenope was build by ACube themselves and feature wise it might not be the same as the AROS one. Though, they might have the same version number but not the same build date. The AROS Parthenope is built with every nightly build. Given the build date (inside of the binary) and the git repository mentioned earlier in this thread it should be possible to determine the differences, if there are any.

ciao

@mausle
I tested a current AROS build at the weekend and I am happy to say both my USB keyboard and mouse worked nicely and AROS recognised the USB key I plugged in even if it did not mount it.

I also got an SFS error on boot and as such I am reluctant to try installing AROS on my primary hard disk until this is resolved just in case it causes any problems with my OS4.1 partitions.

I also had no luck getting any of the Ethernet drives working with my sam440ep's onboard network card, is one of the expected to be working at the moment and if so has anyone used it with DHCP?

Hello,

I have tested the last LiveCD just before.

AROS progress bar go untill the end, the mouse and keyboard reset, the screen change and immediately the same SFS requester:

-------------------------------------------------
SFS CACHES: (ata.device , unit 0)

the number of free block (.......) is incorrect.
acording to the bitmap it should be ...........

the number of free block will now be updated.

continue no more requester
-------------------------------------------------

here I switch off the SAM.

For informations.....

@Mrodfr, Dwylock and others

Thx, for your continuous feedback. I'm a little busy with other things at the moment but will look at the issues you mention asap. About the network: both Michal and I were once able to browse the net via owb, something might got broken in the meantime.

ciao

@mausle

So you like to hear problems so you can fix them?

OK, Cool,

Neither of the two setups choosable from CD bootup seem to work, Infact the old AROS version atleast gets into the OS, but then no USB mouse or keyboard movements.

The latest AROS version just sits there at the end of the loading line, but does not get into AROS.

:(

I was in the hope of using AROS on sam, so I have one less reason to keep that x86 box only for AROS.

Cheers

P.S. Keep up the good work though.

It's the same for me. Using partherope on the CD and the keyboard not work but the same parthenope on the HD, keyboard work fine.

I'm not testing all liveCD, from tim to time, for not stressing people but It's good for use to know that our feedback are appreciated (even if just buring a CD, launch and see what happened and write a comment here aren't too hard to do)

@Mrodfr

Nice to know Im not the only one yes.

Also nice to know my comments can sometimes be appreciated, hehe.

Im not always a Bad Boy like my clothing would suggest, hahahaha

OK, thanks,

Cheers

P.S. IM actually hoping they will have a working AROS for my SAM, so when the time comes for me to have x1000, I will still have a reason to keep sam around for a long time yet. Although I should keep it anyway, for networking games when we all finally get a chance to have the new Amiga system.

Lets hope they have enough supply for demand, or are willing to produce more like Acube had to when there was mroe people wanting a SAM versus what they had in stock.

Cheers
