TABLE AND SPONSORSHIP FEES FOR AMIWEST 2011

The information above is about the table fee. Please do not confuse that with presentations/demos. For those planning on doing a presentation/demo:

President Brian Deneen encourages all potential presenters to contact Amiwest with their subjects and their time projections for their presentations.
amigaprez at amiwest.net

The sooner you can contact Brian to discuss your plans, the sooner Brian can work out a tentative schedule. Early commitments also allow for early promotion of the show events as well, which can only serve to help boost attendance.

Please note:You do NOT need a table in order to speak to Brian about a presentation/demo.
Some speakers will obviously want to adjourn to a table to allow for followup to their presentation and for attendees to have "hands on" experience with what has been presented on the show schedule.
Currently, until I'm informed otherwise, the goal is to have shorter presentations/demos, allowing for more "hands on" time afterwards.

@thread

with less than three months to go, anyone already decided to head out to sacramento this year 'yea or nay' definitively? i'm also rather curious if A-EON is planning on having a presence again this year.

@SACC guys

any additional updates for us with regards to expected vendors/demonstrators?

@eliyahu

I did ask Trevor if he was thinking about returning this year, he said yes. However, plans can change, need to email him soon, after the dust settles, & ask him again.

The AmiWest page will be updated soon-ish with more info.

"Soon-ish" is the new "When it's done" but slightly quicker

@cheesegrate

MorphOS & aros ppl are there & welcome, as always. Problem is, no one feels qualified to demo their OS. Others have asked on Morphzone for a willing user to attend & tell, but its easier to make excuses on why they can't come. You can't say us os4 fanboys don't try. Amigadave does attend, sets up his mac with mos & runs the game contest. I think he's equally frustrated that morphos isn't demoed. The show is what ppl make it to be.

Any more questions?

I will be in California a month before Amiwest (doh!) so I can't really come over again, unless someone wants to pay me :P

Dont forget to video it all again

I do hope they get the video steam live this time. I really hope we get some good news and new cool demos on the X1000.

I would love to come along and show what Aros is up to, after all it is making amazing progress.

Will just have to check my finances, not a cheap trip really.

www.amiwest.net is not THAT far out of date :)

If your planning on attending don't forget to order your banquet ticket:

===
To get your ticket send an email to Chuck Washburn "chuck[at]amiwest.net" or send a check for $29, made out to Amiwest and send it to:

You would need to take that up with the club that puts on the show, might be a tough sell since they all live in Sacramento, California.

Depending on the cost I'm looking at sponsoring Jason McMullan to go this year. If I can get the money together. He's even willing to do not only a presentation on Aros as a whole but also on bringing the Aros 68K port back to life.

@terminills

wow, i see you sponsor jason big time, ;).
but is it worth to go? i thought amiwest has a dedicated audience and i would suspect there is actually no newcomers to amiga scene. so everybody already knows about aros and aros 68k in particular. it doesnt need as much publicity as technical improvement before it can become serious aos replacement. and then and only then the people will start to use it.

Having a video record of presentations is a tool you can use after the fact.
Also, meetings became a part of the show last year and I expect they will this year as well.
This allows for a degree of interaction between everyone that is just not possible on a web forum.
Maybe something good can come from that.

Well if I can get him there he's willing to demo Aros on not only uae but also on his fpga arcade. Plus bring a few premade Aros floppies for classics for people to take with them.

@sundown

I would really like to see MorphOS basics demo'ed ( a couple of times)
I've got a cheap emac and want to learn more.

I would really like to see AROS basics demo'ed too.
I have an old pc laptop and would like to learn more about this too.

BUT. I really still use 3.1 and 3.9. Still need support on classic!!!

AmigaOS 4 is unavailible to me (no hardware I can afford) saving up

So, can amiWest have basic classes for nu-b users?
