Regarding the Amiga Inc. offshoot forum being off the frontpage:

Every time Amiga Inc. does something, the threads turns to hot topics in a bad way, people who are normally balanced get upset, and even get banned.
Todays hot topic is CUSA, earlier it was ICONTAIN, tomorrow who knows.
Amiga Inc. owns the brand name, not much to do about it unless you buy the whole company.

Off frontpage is not the optimal solution, but the most feasible way to deal with this for now, it does cool the threads down noticeably, we in staff get less to moderate, less bans and so on.

The old Alt Amiga OS forum is a good historical comparison, now it feels the time was right for AROS and MorphOS to get their own forums, after all, more common software coming these days compared with the early days, and that should be a good thing.

@HenryCase

In my experience, there are two kinds of troll: people with strongly held opinions who love to argue, and people who enjoy getting a strong negative emotional response from others. Most, if not all, of the second kind have been banned by now. The first kind will keep arguing their favorite topic wherever it appears, regardless of whether it's on the front page or not. That was my point. Reading my response again, I see that my wording wasn't exactly Pulitzer material

Good point, ppl get all upset when it's just a matter of setting up their browser to see what they want.

This is the bookmark I have set on my browser anyway. Gives me a good overview of what is happening on the site.

@CritAnime

Me too... best place to start....

As for getting into flame wars over CUSA and the like.... if people stopped thinking they have to reply to everything they read like the world (or this site) owes them a soapbox, there would be more information than infighting.

@A1200

I do try not to reply lol. Sometimes it's like waving a red peice of cloth infront of a bull with me and CUSA.

Agreed, on both counts. It's a bad sign -- an ill omen -- when a person just can't stand to read things that they disagree with.

I that's the case then to get rid of the other claimed 1% problem you have, all you need to do is ban Tedd AKA Transition, after all he still starts CUSA threads himself and post them in the News section so that they will appear on the front page...

Typical Transition Thread Started on A.O...

Another Typical Transition Thread Started On A.O...

I know 100% of the PMs arriving at all hours 24/ 7 from both Bill & Tedd telling me Wayne, Barry or Dammy had just posted something on the site and where I could find private details about them or telling me you were just about to ban them, all went away too thank gawd...

Shame you didn't stop sending the emails trying to sell the site though hopefully today you'll have learned your lesson on that score...

Now if you don't mind I'm very busy right now talking to Barry's mole about some nice juicy info concerning him and a certain Amiga site that you may know quite well...

@Franko

When are you going to get a real life instead of attention on forums? Especially CUSA ones where the company truly could care less for your opinions?

thats what i mean. btw, the last cusa initiated thread here although looking like self advertisement issue alright, was quitre constructive i think. not because cusa is likely ever seriously going to consider these requests, but because amiga fans facing the very question, what exactly would they expect amiga to become beyond its current hobby toy status.

OK!

Franko may be tough, but his posts are fun to read and sometimes really good. I would not be without him here.
I think AW is working well today. Can not see any problems.

I think it's good that the new initiative for the Amiga-related os / hardware must own categories. But I would like to develop it so that all variants have the same space (with the exception of the classic that perhaps should have more space).

I also think that clear rules should be created for what is Amiga related.

Franko's posts are very funny sometimes. You can tell he is a smart person that likes to express himself. He can say mean things that hurt people's feelings but they should take it as a joke. I think in the end he is just having fun and is not trying to harm anyone.

Well actually you are comparing apples and oranges there. I'm a potential customer of AEon/Hyperion he is not a potential customer of either os4 targets, morphos boxes, or commodore usa anything. Whereas i'm a potential customer for all three really.. but i see you humour , at least you are actually "funny" A fanboy but "funny" lulz
