yes that has happened quite often actually. |
Please do so over CUSA products. Heavy critism and ask to open source everything. Be consisent. Thanks.
(sarcasm off)
Whizz defenetly doesn`t like AROS promoted here, but most of user like it.
However, such extreme enemy attitudes are rare nowadays.
People learn to respect development.
If Timberwolf should be ported to other platforms there is a way to do it. e.g. bounty clearly states
Quote:
Source code The source code of the port will be made available only as far as the MPL requires it, i.e. all modified source code files will be available for interested parties, but new files will not. This is in accordance with the requirements of the Mozilla Public License. If, after 12 months after the release of a new major version of Firefox, the author(s) of Timberwolf have not released a new version or at least committed to a new version, the source code shall be given to an interested party that can continue development of Timberwolf. |
It would be decent enough to wait for first final versionLast edited by vox on 09-Mar-2012 at 10:58 PM.

LOL, the first time I played with TW, I tried MB & it wouldn't load the site.

Are we now back in our old attitudes. AOS4 is the good side, the other camps (68k, Aros and MorphOS) are the bad? |

| I went back three pages and found hardly anything on-topic. Seen as though nothing was moderated; perhaps it would be a good idea just to lock the thread.
Sorry for being grumpy, but any posts containing that 4-letter acronym should belong in the lonely pidgeon hole it belongs in. Last edited by djrikki on 10-Mar-2012 at 02:47 PM.

We also never said that we wouldn't make the source code available at one point.

You might want to check the bounty description before you start complaining about negative feedback. It actually says:
Quote:
The source code of the port will be made available only as far as the MPL requires it, i.e. all modified source code files will be available for interested parties, but new files will not.

You see, the beauty of this statement is that nobody actually did. Nobody contacted us and asked whether we would consider.

He just did, you just failed to notice.
Honestly, I'm not trying to stress your patience or something, but fats just said "May I contact you guys to see if I can use part of your code to port Firefox to AROS?" - where I come from that is considered a request for sourcecode.
Edit: Sorry, I should have read the remainder of the thread before answering. ignore the above.Last edited by cgutjahr on 10-Mar-2012 at 06:31 PM.

Seriously? A discussion about MPL and open source and you claim it's turning into something else? It's a discussion forum, and it's still Timberwolf being discussed... _________________ Common sense - So rare it's almost like a super power |

Like what exactly? The only thing that has been modified are the scripts. If you have the COS-V, you have those scripts already. Nothing of the binaries have been modified so you are free to download the source code from multiple locations on the net.
