@Everblue

I'm puzzled how people will get sound and a SATA port hooked up, when there is only one PCI slot? Or will the config be:

PCI SATA

PCIe x 1 sound

PCI3 x 16 video

And wont this make the cost about the same?

@Overflow

We will have to see.

Edit : R9 280X is the highest currently supported by the Radeon HD driver.

I have seen a 2D benchmark for the previous driver up a HD6800 Model.
An ASUS Radeon HD 7750 is listed in the compatatbity list as well .

You can keep an eye on what people have tested here
http://hdrlab.org.nz/benchmark/gfxbench2d/OS/AmigaOS/Motherboard/Sam460ex/

The R9 cards will cover your PCI slot so you old have to use a pcie riser card in a good
sized case like I intend to with the HD6670 .

I have one of these to try as well. It did not work with my Sam440ep-flex though.

The cost is less because none of the stuff found onboard the Sam460ex was supported in Amiga OS4.1 anyway :)

@Aslak3

Acube 's prices
The PCI 2 port Sata card is EUR19.00
The Pciex1 Sound card is EUR 22.00
There are also different sound card models that work.
I have this one
http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=NM-PE6SC&cat=SND

This one should also work

@Spectre660
Do you really need a Series 9 card with Sam460? What is the advantage, say, over 5450?

@Everblue

They are faster :) .
I dont know if they will work though.
Somebody has to take the plunge and test one
I have plenty of surviving cards myself (10)
1 5550,2 4850's,1 6570, 1 6670 gddr3 single slot,
2 6670's gddr5 dualslot, 2 7750's slow profile and a dual slot 6770 .

Well yes true they are faster, but would say, something like, OWB feel faster? Because I doubt it.

@Everblue

I had a single slot Radeon HD6670 GDDR5 on my Sam460ex and you could feel the difference with anything less powerful.all the other less powerful cards felt the same as each other.

What I am waiting to see is if A-Eon do a new driver for any high end pciex1 sound cards for the X5000. Things would be very interesting if they do .

Funny, the price was the first thing that caught my eye when the first AmiWest reports started to flood in. 622 EUR incl. tax, apparently:

@Trixie

Well that price isn't coming directly from ACube and it doesn't include an OS. And they (Comsytec) don't have them in stock either because, yes, I asked them :)

@Everblue

If it's a birthday present and you won't pay for it, why not aim for the bigger models then?
Jokes aside, at this point i believe it's better for you to wait for OS4FE to come out, it's only a month away it seems...

They would not have the AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition DVD's yet.
So they would not really be ready to sell yet .

That's right we need to wait for the AOS4.1 FE CD from Hyperion.
