@PR

then you have to use UAE

AmigaOS and MorphOS will never join, in fact they are developing (intentionally or not) in different directions. And there are the personal things additionally.

My last post on this:

Ban, Block, defenstrate, hang, blow up, decapitate, electrocute, shoot, nuke etc. the trolls that are trying to kill it so they can feed their egos on the carcass...

@soft

I like what you wrote and I have captured similar sentiments in some of my articles/posts.

I am actually working, or rather have been for many years working on a new type of operating environment which is heavily inspired by the Amiga. It is my view that it's better to be Amiga-like in spirit than in name. Of course, if I had gazillions of dollars I would have both.

@OlafS25

I wondered the same thing

The only egos I see as harmful to the platform are some of the "powers that be" from OS4.x platform, but theyre only hurting themselves anyway. It's not like people from one option are hurting/killing anyone elses party.

To each their own I guess.

@fishy_fis

I assume Severin´s post was desperate voice for more strong moderating here, which would be nice. Trolls... ban them, all of them.

For me the void that was left by AmigaOS was filled by Linux. Linux is a tinkerer's OS, like AmigaOS is. Except that Linux is relevant to modern-day computing and is supported by very cheap high performance hardware.

Yes, me too, but... where Linux comes up short is that there's just too much of it. You can learn more about it, which is productive and rewarding, but you can never really master it.

@BSzili

There are several individuals that don't use or like OS4.x that could easily be viewed as being "trolls". Would you exclude them?

I find it amusing that you took me seriously, even though I ended my post in a smiley.

I've said this in other posts, you just need to look in the mirror...

That goes for me & everyone else that posts in these types of threads. You & I are stuck in our likes, but any new ppl checking posts here to see how we support our hobby & maybe join, will be turned off. We need new blood & the fights here send the wrong message.

Well, thats my take. We need to quit "arguing" & learn how to "discuss" things.

Yes, of course you are, aren't we all. Make sure it isn't DOS this time.

@sundown

when I write that MorphOS and AmigaOS team will never unify then I do not "argue" but say the obvious. The MorphOS team will also never join AROS team and AmigaOS team not join with AROS team. There are legal reasons, technical reasons and emotional reasons and personal aversions. I certainly do not go further in detail. That has absolutely nothing to do with "trolling". And where I was arguing and not discussing?

@sundown

And BTW what will happen if MorphOS and AmigaOS run on same hardware? People will compare things like hardware support and speed. Will that also be arguing and trolling then? Users of all camps must tolerate that people compare. I had also to tolerate that people called my favorite OS "alpha" and "unstable" and "years behind". I react then with proof (if posssible) that this is wrong or ask for evidence. I see nothing wrong with it.

@amigadave

I wonder, are you a MorphOS developer ?

If you're still a moderator then you should be ashamed,
I'm very sure moderators are supposed to be neutral and not bashing another flavor.
MorphOS isn't objectively better and you're indirectly saying that AmigaOS developers aren't talented.

And to your clam that nobody from the MorphOS camp are attacking the AmigaOS developers, then look at the comment section of this interview with Steve Solie
http://www.computerworld.com.au/article/426217/amigaos_4_developer_interview_why_it_endures_what_future_holds/

You don't know what is going on behind the scene of the AmigaOS team, so you can't say that they aren't working as hard as the MorphOS team

To the rest,

Why is this necessary ?

Why is someone who is a user of a OS immediately a fanatic ?

I am an AmigaOS user, but that doesn't mean that I don't like MorphOS and AROS , or that I assist on that my OS is the best.

I love what the developers are doing of each 'camp' and pushing our Amiga platform forwards.

This is a forum for all Amiga flavors, stop the blind hate.

A Troll post to me is a show of disrespect for another persons likes/views. I don't expect you or others to agree with my likes/views, we are all different. All I'm saying is, we are all part of the problem here because we can't ignore the troll posts. Solving problems with text messages like this will never work anyway, to much left out to get a message across without guessing between the lines.
