"1200" -> AGA with 2MB of chipram.

Most A1200 users have CPU card or at least Fast RAM expansion - you don´t have much choice with WHDLoad, so it makes sense to target this configuration.

AGA was outdated when it came out, PC where one year behind.

A1200 was performance-wise (in time of release - late 1992) on par with PCs of its price league.

@NutsAboutAmiga: even more. PC already had true color graphics at the time.

SNES was a great console. And it was shipped on 1990...

Most Amiga 1200 users had just the plain computer. That's why it was the reference for games.

Only some lucky (rich, looking at the costs) guys had the chance to expand it, or even get an accelerator.

Every PC shipped with hard drive, more memory, and monitor.

Configuring an Amiga 1200 adding that peripherals increased a lot the price, and it become not competitive anymore, even with the lowest budget PC.

We live in 2015 (soon to be 2016), not 1992/1993.

We both had this discussion few months ago... I even listed prices from 1992. It would be much easier to simply trust me in all computer history related topics.

I was referring to the period where the games were developed. Software houses have to consider the correct target, which was represented by the plain machines.

Now it's different, right.

You may remember Tabor and E-UAE JIT benchmarks, it would be easy to provide link, but as written in my favourite game "some words are shared only among friends".

Well it also depends whether the market the game goes to is to new Retrogamers or hardcore fans;
in the first case the base 500 or 500+ is a valid reference, for FPGA emulators, Amiga forever, UAE, real 500 and 500+; for the hardcore fans instead the 020+ seems a valid target.

Why are you changing the argument?

Ah, yes: because it's easier instead of providing a simple link...

@Amiten

Give Rowan a personality and make the game playable and addictive.

For its release I would think of:
1) a digital download, ADF format, for software emulators, hardware clones, ...

2) a special edition for collectors, shaped like phisical floppy disks, there are still many real machines and isn' t a phisical floppy disk a cool thing in 2016?

Again good luck

Well yes in the sense that Amiga is very capable for graphics.
Anyway improvements are always possible and surely it takes some time to define a proper graphical asset.

@Massi: I know, but criticizing Amiten's work when the given demo is far away worse, well, doesn't sounds good to me.
