@Niolator

I'm excited as well. Would be great to see a demonstration of AmigaOS 4.1 running on the X5000, but also on the Tabor. Really hope this will happen.

@AmigaOldskooler

If you get there, you're sure to see an X5000 running AmigaOS4.

Exactly, new third party Power8 and 9 based cpus, licensed and available.

They could have done this years ago. In fact when ARM started taking over they should have implemented a licensing scheme there and then. They had a portion of the market then ARM stretched out and suddenly a STRONG ARM was taking everything.

I'd LIKE an alternative to Intel, it will keep them on their toes, and assure better products from all.

That would be nice. At the end of the day, it's all electronics and transistors inside an IC. But this seems like comparing a rotary engine with a piston engine. Both made out of the same basic materials and made for the same purpose but with different approaches to performing it.

Right now alternatives seem to be nothing more than doing basically the same thing but from another company manufacturing elsewhere in another factory. Barely more than competition. If you compare AMD with Intel.
