Could anyone lend a mobo with OS4 to Titan till they make a port for OS4??
If anyone got more than one A1 or an old A1 SE, it could help.
Unfortunately, i have none atm.

| @Anyone
What are the REQUIREMENTS for the 68K Version of Papyrus?
Will it work on an AGA Amiga with a 68030 and 32mb?
What Apps does it come with besides a Word Procesor (Since its called OFFICE)?
Sounds like it will Include HollyWood Designer...................same way Microsoft Office has PowerPoint or Open Office and its Presentation software |

This is hardware yo get for free.
The fact that "a simple user" can afford the board and not someone that will make money out of it, is completely beyond me. |
I doubt they will make alot of money on the small OS4 userbase. I honestly doubt it is even big enough to pay of the costs of the hardware.
I am suprised that there still is people who release/sell commerical software for this platform today, as there is so little money to be made. Last edited by Tomas on 03-Feb-2006 at 01:16 AM.

I should imagine there are as many OS4 users out there as there are MorphOS users (there are only 5 Pegasos II owners in the UK apparently), so why develop it for MorphOS and not for OS4 _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

You can tell its not OS4 by the roughness of the GUI. That'll be OS3.9 running VisualPrefs and probably Birdie to achieve the OS4 look... _________________ Regards Darren 'Ryu' Glenn ---------------------------- www.IntuitionBase.com - Your Guide to Amiga OS4.x and the AmigaOne www.Bambi-Amiga.co.uk - My A1200 webserver, running 24/7/365 |

its not our fault that there is no OS4 version.

It is just a decent question: What is the problem with the current OS3.x version that makes it unuseable on OS4? I have some big classic softwares which works under OS4, so I think solve this incompatibility may sell the 68k version to OS4 users. |

Agreed but that doesn't change anything. A simple user can buy it so they can do so as well!

Because they got full support from hw and MorphOS developers
@Elwood
Why should they do it ? There's no initiative for them, then why do yet another port? Better spend time improving software. Until market is small that is.Last edited by brotheris on 03-Feb-2006 at 01:39 PM.

Well, if they want to do it, they will do it i.e buy hardware and port. If they don't want to (because the market is too small or whatever), it won't change anything if they have an A1 or not. So it's still the same, if they want to, they can do it (no need to wait anything or anyone).
This is my opinion, they just don't care about doing an OS4 version of Papyrus. Period. So there's no need to discuss this issue anymore.Last edited by elwood on 03-Feb-2006 at 01:53 PM.

Well what about their 60 or more minimum required customers, they got that and took our credit card details..... they should care!_________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

You are wrong. You just can't expect that when you create a platform it will emerge on itself. You need to push it, not only with website. You need to actively promote it amongst developers. Wasn't pre-release released mostly for developers to bring some software to platform ? (atleast that was official excuse). |

AmigaOS4 Preorder has started you can place your order here a minimum of 60 orders and the promised developer system are necessary to make this port happen. The porting work starts when these terms are fulfilled, after this customer will receive Papyrus 68k version which will be replaced (download) with the native OS4 Version later. |
(www.titancomputer.de)
I heard that they have more than 60 preorders but I could not say if this is correct. If only one preoder customer received a copy of Papyrus then they have enough preorders.
The big question is why they made this preorder. I think that they should knew that they don`t get a free Amiga.
By the way I want to buy it after the release of the OS4 version.

When you were soliciting for pre-orders, I too recall you promising to send 68k versions to everyone that ordered. That's been months since I ordered and I'd like to try the 68k version on my A1.
Is there some reason why the 68k version hasn't been sent out yet?

| @Convincer Even if they get the required 60 pre-orders, they didn't get a board to start developping.
So, the conditions are not fulfilled to sttar an OS4 port.
Without that, we have to understand that it won't happen. Simple as that. |

| Can anyone confirm that it (68k version) works with Amithlon?

| @all & Mr. Garlich
I have bought and installed Papyrus on my A1 for several months now. But under update it crashed the complete A1. After I got some hints and updates from Mr. Garlich the Papyrus Windows pops up and the GrimReaper appears, but can still use my A1. I thought update 4 (AOS4) would remedy thois but the same Guru appears!
I would really like to Papyrus running natively as PPC under AOS4.
