| What kind of processing power do you need to watch YouTube flv`s at full speed? My 900 MHz Athlon won`t come close (about 1 frame a second on a good day, whatever player I use) Nothing to do with net speed, same happens when I`ve downloaded them. Mpegs are fine btw. _________________ A1200T, Blizzard 1260 66 + 64MB, OS3.9, 20GB 7200RPM HD, IDEfix97 + 52X CD-RW + DVD-RW + Zip, IOBlix1200P + Scanner, Internal SD/FF + 15" VGA |

| @All Mplayer crashed violently when trying this out. Going through the scripts it seems the stack isn't raised at all, and mplayer is known to be quite stack hungry. Adding PRAGMA('STACK',1000000) after the comment line in the Arexx scripts solved it for me! Hope this can be helpful for others too.

Can you show exactly on which line you added it?
Thanks.

Sure, here are the first lines of the script:
/* youtube downloader */ PRAGMA('STACK',1000000) options results
/* expected url form is : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxxxxx */ parse arg url

| Download and play is mostly okay, but "streaming" always seems to retrieve the entirety of the video anyway before starting playback. The URL for the videos are really long now by the way. _________________ : AmigaOneXE (unmod.) 750FX/512 MB +stuff & AmigaOS 4.(0|1) : A1200/68060&96MB/SCSI/EM1200-Voodoo3 & OS 3.5 : A500/1MB : Pegasos (ff) 512 MB & MorphOS Praise seitan. |

Runs FLV fine with AMD64** @800Mhz (downclocked via RightMark's CPU Clock tool), E.g. http://youtube.com/watch.php?v=QHsnjC7RKZE&search=suzuki
**Tested with Turion 64 MT (Stepping E, 1MB L2 cache, DDR400 memory), Athlon 64 Mobile (Stepping CG, 1MB L2 cache, DDR333), Athlon 64 Desktop (Stepping CG, 512KB L2 cache, DDR400). GPUs tested limited to Radeon 9600 (AGP8X) or Radeon X700 (PEG). All memory capacity for each of the test machines @1.5GB and all running MS Windows Vista Ultimate._________________ Ryzen 9 7900X, DDR5-6000 64 GB RAM, GeForce RTX 4080 16 GB Amiga 1200 (Rev 1D1, KS 3.2, PiStorm32lite/RPi 4B 4GB/Emu68) Amiga 500 (Rev 6A, KS 3.2, PiStorm/RPi 3a/Emu68) |

Nope, 1 frame per second again. Motherboard only lets me use AGP 1X, so that might account for some probs. It is capable of 2X, but it needs a little hacking, and the setting never saves after reboot.

i don't think its a lacks of CPU power, seen that i'm playing it nicely on MOS for PowerUP (200Mhz cpu) throgh IB and MPlayer. (cvppc in overlay)
PS- anybody knows (if it is possible) actually how to stream FLVs? (play the FLV while downloading)

| Bah! There`s definitely something wrong with my setup, since H/W bashing 3D games like Quake 2 fly, but a simple low res 2D video stutters. Watching DVDs is absolutely out of the question. _________________ A1200T, Blizzard 1260 66 + 64MB, OS3.9, 20GB 7200RPM HD, IDEfix97 + 52X CD-RW + DVD-RW + Zip, IOBlix1200P + Scanner, Internal SD/FF + 15" VGA |
