Quote:
I already knew about both of these before writing about my image fx problems on here.

You did! Did you follow the advice?

Quote:
No, those .lha downloads did not help me from os4depot, as I seem to have a different problem.

AFAIK it needs to be working first before the OS4 plugin can be used. I did install the ImageFXLite ages ago and it does work.

Quote:
Also to note, they were using os4 and a1 type hardware, not os4.1 with sam440ep hardware, which is like comparing apples and oranges, due to the structure of the cores being so different.

No so, really. OS4.1 is using the same code base as OS4, it's just more bug fixed and has more features. And, the install problem would be much the same, since there was trouble installing it on OS4 and how it could overwrite classes. As to hardware, this is pretty much irrelevant since you are running a program on the emulator, which will act the same on my machine as it would on yours.

It is made harder since it looks like NovaDesign haven't even made an OS4 compatible version or installer of the program. Nor could I find a demo. It's made a bit hard when people like you purchase these programs and they don't even offer end user support. Well they say the AmigaOne is compatible but how? AmigaOS4 has been around for about five years now so there's no excuse IMO. A native version would be great, run the fastest, wouldn't crash and would install perfectly. Even a one compatible version was made for MorphOS. A demo would help determine these problems and Nova could then provide an OS4 compatible version and increase customer sales by guaranteeing it will work fine.

IIRC they ran ImageFX on Amithlon and they said "It was like running ImageFX on a native PowerPC Amiga!" Well, a few examples of PowerPC Amiga's have been here, but where are the native PowePC versions? Looks like they've left the boat and headed for PC harbour.

Quote:
Anyway, Glad you could'nt help me at this point.

Why? Sick of me butting in? Hehe.

Quote:
OWB works fine now, managed to repair the bad upgraded version I had, by re-installing everything.

Good. Wait, not the whole OS?!

Oh BTW if you want to download with OWB then you can use OWB2. I keep a few versions on my system.

Quote:
Oh, by the way, I already have it installed, it just is not running, and does not wish to run after pushing Ignore DSI error, which is to do with imagefx.

How did you install it? Did you do it your way? Or follow the 2005 thread?

Quote:
I will look into this though, and re read the other thread, posted in 2005, repeat (2005) when sam440ep hardware was not available.

Yes, and you are running the same or maybe newer version of ImageFX, under emulation, I repeat; emulation, and it doesn't work out of the box.

@Hypex

OWB works for me now, as I think I had already stated,

I also have original version on my OS, but dont care to us eit, too slow, versus IBrowse, just to download thigns, Just open IBrowse is what I say.

INstalled HD-Rec program, but it is searching for a library I can not find anywhere, be it os4depot or Aminet.

THink it was called around camd.library or something like this, will check tonight when I get home and Edit this if needbe.

@All

How is IOQuake running on other peoples sam's machines, is it running slow during gameplay? Atleast it works though. (quake 3 yes)

Image FX 4.5 Studio, it is simple, I have managed to install it, took the same effort that wegster needed, but does not wish to work on my system atm.

AmigaAMP, still freezes, but since have found simpleplay, tkplayer and tunenet to listen to musik anyway, but nonetheless, would be nice if I can get a perfect system to happen, hence, I need to get this working again.

I will try to re-install AmigaAMP tonight.

Got Aweb happening, prefer Ibrowse over Aweb, and OWB for graphical content versus IBrowse.

Has anyone gotton Voyager to work, or sputnik on their os4.1?? Can people give me a link of the latest version of Voyager ever released, and the latest of sputnik?

My Napalm game still isnt working, everythings installed, but starts to load, before DSI or freeze of my system.

Will look into feeble files tonight also, see whats happening there, maybe the mpega.lib re install has fixed the original feeble problems with loading now?

Checked, all my rtg and stuff, but noticed I have WarpOS and Warp3D libs and drawers, in my libs in my amiga OS partition. IS there anything I dont need here?

Also, the picasso 96 libs are in their own Drawer in the libs drawer, do I need to copy these into the direct libs drawer?

CHeers for now.

You need WarpOS (emulator) for WarpUP programs.
Warp3D is AmigaOS4 native.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Thanks Nuts, I will try About my Amiga later on tonight with your link.

I will let you know if it works better.

Also, at

@All

Can anyone give me a link to have youtube videos working with my OWB please.

Thankyou.

A friend had given it to me via SabreMSN, but silly me was so tired last night, I forgot to copy paste the link.

Cheers.

Oh, That HD-Rec problem, it is definately looking for a camd.library, last I checked could not find it on os4depot.

Where do I find this Library?

At the moment as mentioned I think elsewhere, I am using tkplayer, simpleplayer and tunenet for my musical needs.

OH, BTW, to anyone doing websites or c++ coding, try tuited program, I think it has saved me a lot of time and hassle already.

Think it was part of the downloads on this site.

www.hd-rec.de/

Cheers. And enjoy the Lite versioned programs on here.

@NutsAboutAmiga

Nope, amigaAMP still freezes on my whole system, but only after I click the play button. f I leave the AmigaAMP program open on my workbench, without clicking play, nothing goes wrong with my system.What could be going on here??

BTW, Although I already had external installed, I did re download it ad install it again just in case.

My mpega.lib is also fine.

I have selected the OS4 in the tabs, should I be selecting a different coder here?? Like Mpega or default??

Cheers.

Sure. OS4Depot. Oh and it was IBrowse, not OWB. And it can do flash as well. Still life left in the old horse.

Did you try the one on site?

You could try this as well:

@Hypex

OK piniot my main man, wanted to know, it isnt the swf player now is it? coz I already ot that, and nothing works with it??

Also you couldve atleast giving me a link with the direct flash player??? flash plugin???? needed to have it working, even I know I can do search on os4depot.

But searching versus knowing what I need are two different things.

flasm.lha

reminiscence.lha

crpgamesvol11.lha

usbdiskicon.lha

flashmandelng.lha

Then theres tha fact that, is it only flash I need to play those youtube videos??

Anyway, that aside, I find it amusing how I had typed in the search camd, I couldve sworn it, and nothing came up, but then, I have noticed that my IBrowse does not always load things, and you have to click twice or enter twice for things to work sometimes.

Very well, that was easy camd.

Now, how abut you and piccalo come along to the amiga meet this sunday since you are in australia, it is in mount waverly, which you may already know of anyway. If so, I will be attenting, and will be able to meet you there.

Ill be bringing my sam440ep, and Id like you to bring your A1 is it?

Cheers.

@Hypex

Thanks for some stuff on sunday dude.

Hope those LHA files you got from me help you or are useful for you also.

@All

Anyone in here played Marathon 2 on their Amiga? It is a tad different of a FPS, but after getting used to it, I kind of like it now.

Wanted to know, why the unusual screen sizes? I picked 1280 x 640, that does not quiet make sense to me? Did the macs really have such weird screen sizes back in the day??

Anyway, nice to play it on my amiga, along with Beats Of Rage.

FOund out through Hypex on USnday, that my Quake 3 is set up correctly, and is running way slow versus his on his machine.

Wondering if it is to do with the sam hardware, like the fact its a soc cpu?

CHeers.

NO, we did not get ImageFX 4.5 Studio working correctly yet, but we did get my Euae working, but the game loading and all seems slow, can we speed it up?

Cheers.

Holy Crackamoly, I have moonbases game working on OS4.1

That gives me some hope in running the game, Shadows Of the Third Moon, and Exodus - The last War(Full version) with its patch.

What other pre 2000 games can one run on OS4.1, that were supposedly only for AGA systems??

Cheers

No I don't think so. But having said that it may be flash based. IIRC it uses MPlayer to play t he videos.

ImageFX is is buggy and not made for OS4 as it is made to work on MOS. It is almost a hack. I found out it installed NewWPA8 which was crashing right into the Startup-Sequence! How bad is that!! What I wonder is how a program compatible with MorphOS installs a 68k hack in the system?

Gebrochen, did you try the MorphOS installer? Maybe it is safer.

@Hypex

I was under the impression that Gary had passed on my backup LHA CD's to you, for you to place onto your system??????

That is a bummer, you'll have to get it next time off me, I go every third sunday the Mount Waverly Amiga meet is on.

Image FX on my MorphOS peg 1 system you mean?

Or try the Morph installer on my OS4.1 system?

Mmmmm, Also, managed to sort out my dockies in roughly this order :

Default
Custom
Custom2
DesignType
FPShooter
Strategy
Auto
AirType
PlatForm
BrainageGames
Emulation

I could be missing one here, as I am typing this at work.

My AmigaAMP still freezes, but, didn't you give me your one to try?

@ ALL

FX PAINT PLEASE
Also, I managed to get Perfect Paint working correctly, but you FX Paint demo looks neat, was wondering if anyone on this FORUM knows where I can obtain the full version and the latest one?

Can anybody list a list of Audio creating or manipulating programs available for my sam440ep OS4.1 amiga?

SO far, I have only managed to get HD-Rec to work, along with JAHC's program RockBeat.

Thank you kindly in advance.

AMIGAAMP:

http://www.amigaamp.de/

AmigaAMP 2.18
AmigaAMP prefs 1.24

Download mpega.library

http://OS4Depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=library/misc/mpega_libmad.lha

start the program, in AmigaAMP menu select
Project -> Config

Under the system tab, select engine: mpega.library

if AmigaAMP does not do it download AMPlifier, it does the same and looks the same.

@NutsAboutAmiga

I already have tuneNet working, along with TKplayer and SimplePlay from Jahc.

@All

ahh shet, Digital Almanac III almost works, then crashes on me. Has anyone got this program application working on their system? On OS4 onwards ofcourse??

I did install the patch, and made up an ISO cd, yes.

First has a problem with some font, then seems to have a problem with MUI?? Is it because I do not have a full MUI, and only an MUI that OS4.1 comes with??

Cheers.

Yes, you copied it to your system right? Perhaps take note of what NAA said and use the mpega lib. Mine is set to the OS4 one which should work well. Or, just use TuneNet and put an Amp skip on it. But you said you can live without a skin so why not forget about Amp and just use TuneNet!

The audio section of OS4Depot for starters.

Quote:

Edit the .uaerc directly in the UAE directory and add this line:
floppy_speed=800

And look up gluae on the depot as well.

Homeland, has anyone got this running on their amiga?

Another few, would be things like monkey island 3, Westwood studios productions on their RTG games, and others like these two.

I want to test these, to see if they work with OS4.1.

Can anyone give me other larger games names, and where to obtain them from, thank you.
