>>It won't matter one jolt if Amiga is going x86. NO ONE is going to develop for AMiga, BECAUSE it runs x86. One develops for a specific OS, because of either a liking for the OS or a liking for the money that can be had there.

>>That's fine ;) your choice. I can't afford that H/W and also shell out for the OS. I can't justify it and it doesn't suit any of my needs other than run AMIGA OS 4.1 which I can't afford because of the H/W offering blahh blahh blahh.
I bet you have got a quad cpu with a dual gpu gfx card... _________________ www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

>>A new marketing slogan
We are just at the beginning: since 1994!
You people are completely crazy!
Amiga ain't going to be what it was...NEVER, not even on x86, never, ever! Just forget it.
Amiga was what it was because it had millions and millions of $ and a great group of people behind it, this won't happen ever again! _________________ www.loriano.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk |

In terms of business 1000 equals 0... This doesn't make any difference. In any case you don't earn money when you have removed the development costs, the packaging, the printing, the support,...
As for an OS, 1000 users doesn't represent anything... especially when seing 140 millions computers are sold each year...Last edited by Leo on 25-Mar-2009 at 08:40 PM.

why is PPC a dead platform for Amiga OS? |
R&D creating newer better PowerPC chips seems very specific, and what is not custom chips for special cusotmers liek Microsoft, Sony, Nintendo seem to be moving away from features and performance levels many of us would like to have. We don' thave many many millions of dollars to get something custom made if we want different than standard available chips. The PA Semi chip would have been amazing, too bad Apple killed it for markets such as ours. (We aren't multi-multi-multi-billion $ military contractors with the government backing our request for Apple to continue supplying completed chip design) I wish IBM or Freescale or AMCC would buy the rights to PA Semi designs to sell as standard part...

if is so, why all actual game consoles use PPC-technology? |
Interesting question, don't know the answer. They have millions of dollars to make special versions of the chips for their needs, and can afford to make what they need if standard PowerPC chips lack something. Will that be the case for next generation though? _________________ All glory to the Hypnotoad! |

YES maybe not same numbers but dont forget people we who are gone from are platform will retry amiga if they see amiga coming back from deat with a x86 hw not special hw we always get are selfs stuck with it..
couple of my mates are gone to linux I POINT OUT HERE NOT WINDOWS but they are running x86 linux`es becouse they always hated Windows so linux had everyting we dont have as amiga & they where realy good coders and that hurts.
I like to point something out here that every amigan needs to see what x86 can give to as YES hard job and will cost money but if we hide are selfs behind the Dead market we are not going anywhere.
X86 wont force u to use windows but will give you more power also we may see the daylight once more.
there is no need for a race when the car u have is out of dated.
People when you click on www.eyetech.co.uk than you will get http://www.amigakit.com/ do you now WHY?lol
Stop pulling from left or right and watch amiga go down.. & if you guys want to see amiga powerup again stop holding amiga back with ppc market let amiga have x86 hw and lets all focus on Software side of things. does not metter will get the drivers and rest before sam upgrades its samboard 667 to 800mhz.
