| It seems as if I can press all the keys I like on any keyboard I attach, the lights blink at boot, but I cannot stop it from autobooting. I can not get into the boot menu or preferences menu. Looks like its not responding to any keypress. Any ideas? USB keyboards won't work right? |

Not 100% sure, but I've always used a PS2 keyboard and mouse in my MicroA1. That works. _________________ AmigaOS 4.x Beta Tester - Classic Amiga enthusiast - http://www.hd-zone.com is my Amiga Blog, check it out! |

| I've never tried a USB keyboard. Well, it's USB but to a PS2 adaptor, so the computer can't tell it's USB. Use a PS2 KVM to everything.
Is this a known issue, or a one-off quirk? If it's a known issue, we should add it to the AmigaOne uboot update project list.

The strange thing is, this AT keyboard has always worked with uboot. I hadn't used the AmigaOne for about half a year, now that I turn it on again it seems it won't listen to any keypresses. I've also tried removing and placing back the battery on the motherboard to reset all uboot settings. Still no difference. Can I use an Amiga keyboard in the catweasel? Which of the two dinconnectors should I plug that into on the catweasel? |

Yes. And I have a quite new x86 here which has the same problem, usb too slow to halt bios, have to use PS/2 keyboard to halt the boot._________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

I guess it could also be a hardware failure on my AmigaOne...? In that case a bug report would not be needed... |

Have you tried replacing the battery to a new one?_________________ Site admins are people too..pooff! |

@NutsAboutAmiga
But to set that variable I would first have to be able to stop it from autobooting and enter some commands, which is exactly what uboot is refusing me to do.
I'm going to replace the battery, could that prevent the keyboard presses from being registered? Sounds unlikely... but I'll give it a try.[quote] NutsAboutAmiga wrote:

I guess I could set it under AmigaOS if it didn't stop loading on a black screen. I'll try another monitor because this is a different one from the one that was on there when the setings were made and so they may be out of range for this display causing a black screen. |

You have 5 options.
1) Boot the OS4 install CD you might be able to set the uboot variable form there as well as configuring your monitor tool types.
2) As long as it boots to Kickstart you should be able to start whit out startup sequence, before it switches to what ever screen mode you have on your workbench, just hit scroll-lock like crazy after kernel modules are loaded.
3) you might also be able to configure it whit a null modem cable, but I don't know if you need to configure uboot accept serial input or not.
4) Find a PS2 keyboard it work every time.
5) Find your old monitor. _________________ http://lifeofliveforit.blogspot.no/ Facebook::LiveForIt Software for AmigaOS |

I've used 3 PS2 keyboards, they blink at bootup, then I can press whatever I like the AmigaOne does not go to bootmenu or Preferences. |

| I've managed to get into the Amiga Early Startup Control and when I boot without startup-sequence into shell the keyboard does work. So its only not working in uboot...

| I managed to boot into OS4 and change the uboot settings from there. It had Catweasel set up for input device, and I've changed it to PS2, now the keyboard works again. Tricky setting.
