@thread

finally worked out all of the logistics, and i'll be there. for folks that would rather not stay at the show hotel (although i don't know why you wouldn't), there is a hampton inn next door.

if you haven't made your plans, convinced your significant other, or made up your own mind, do it now, and help to make amiwest 2011 the best show yet!

Well, it looks like I have finally convinced one more MorphOS user to attend the show with me.

Acill (aka Paul Rezendes) will be coming with me to the show and has tons more experience than I do in using MorphOS. He has some exciting news about what he will be demonstrating at the show on his iPhone and will also be helping me prepare a real demonstration of MorphOS2.x in front of the show attendees, with a follow-up Q&A session at my MorphOS display table afterward.

I am looking forward to this year's show, and I hope that both the AROS and Natami guys can send at least one person to show their systems at this year's AmiWest Show!

@amigadave

excellent news. i thoroughly enjoyed your table last year, and anything to expand the show to include more facets of the community is welcome news indeed.

come on, folks, let's make 2011 the best amiwest yet!

If anyone records videos this year can do some whit about audio quality, last year we got lots of videos whit mostly background notice from people talking about every thing else.

@NutsAboutAmiga

That's an issue best discussed with tekmage. ssolie has nothing to do with that.
In fact we have the Viva Amiga film maker asking about attending this year. He posted on a.org.

@NutsAboutAmiga

I'm working on improving the quality of both the Video Steam and Audio Stream. For the Audio specificly I'll be getting a compressor which will help with people's voices. I'm also going to be getting higher quality microphones and a body mic for the person presenting the seminar.

I'm also looking in to options to record the full video stream that gets broadcast.

I'd like to point out the real hero is Robert Bernardo who, on his own time and money, spends hours recording then even more hours editing and posting his vidoes. We should all thank him for his work!

Another thing we are doing this year is using twitter. I see twitter was a way for us to communicate real time with the remote folks with schedule updates and for us to get direct feed back regarding the quality. It's something new for this year so we'll see how it goes.

Thanks for bringing this up!

Right now the hotel web site is not working for room rates, etc. Are they having problems? I'll check again tomorrow.

@Comi

Jens is always happy to sponsor the show. His attendance depends on business conditions and I don't think he has been able to commit to coming or not yet.

I hope he is able to attend as his work is one of the things that makes the Amiga so special.

Excellent news about Via Amiga!

I'll get the added benefit of seeing my Kickstarter donation in action!

I would if the founders of KICKSTARTer were Amiga fans?
