| Hi, while surfing download emails my system freeze, no keyboard/mouse was working so a press the rest button of my case, but then my miggy doesn't start!!! I just see the keyboard reset (3 led blinking) and no output on screen, couple of seconds and the 3 leds of keyboard blink again and so endless
Changed the battery (CR2032), but no luck. Unplugged all cards (except VGA) and tried again, but still no luck. Changed my RAM modules (have 2x256MB) from banks too, nothing
Always the 3 led keyboard blinking but nothing on screen, and nothing on serial output too.
Seems it seems it fails at Uboot initializing or... any ideas?
TIA |

Seems it seems it fails at Uboot initializing or... any ideas? ...Been there done that... ...anyone knows how to fix such CRC, reflashing uboot chip? The best guess/theory is a connection is missing between the cpu and mobo via the MegArray. I'm kind of stuck in this same endless loop; but with no CRC error. Boots-up to end of the kernal kickstart and ends with a blinking cursor ; it's won't switch into the OS after KickStart. Battery, memory, PSU are all fine. I haven't touched the cpu area yet. I'd be interested in solving the problem... You can read my adventure here: http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum/viewtopic.php?forum=4&topic_id=5091&post_id=0&start=0&move=0&mode=0&type=0&order=ASC

Maybe it's something as simple as the reset button being stuck. I think you can unplug the little wire from the motherboard. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |

Try pressing any key immediately after power on and see if that will dump you into the uboot prompt where you can then issue the 'saveenv' command.

| @all THX but no luck, still have endless reboot.
Have an eeprom writer, and have uboot 1.1.1 file to write on an uboot chip and hope it gets solved, then update uboot and see what happens.
Next chapter in a couple of days!!!! Stay tuned Last edited by jabirulo on 23-Jan-2012 at 08:25 PM.

Have you tried with another PSU? Sound like instabilities with the power supply to me. |

As suggested change the PSU. The same thing happened on my XE and it was the PSU at fault. Last edited by JurassicC on 24-Jan-2012 at 02:25 PM.

Hi, testeds with a new PSU but nothing new I still get as serial output:
U-Boot 1.2.0 (Sep 13 2007 - 01:39:29), Build: 09/05/07
CPU: MPC7455 v2.1 @ 800 MHz Board: AmigaOne DRAM: 512 MB FLASH: 0 kB *** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment ..
so it seems I have to reflash the uboot (or e new one) BTW the uboot chip is a flash memory 29F040 (AMD or FUJITSU brand)?

I think, that you should re-seat flash-chip. Lift it up bit with suitable tool and then press it back to its place.
If there is bad connection, that can help. |

Sorry to hear that your XE is playing-up.
The serial output can be VERY misleading. And I would doubt that there is any problem with the UBoot flash chip. Though it may still be worthwhile having it checked to eliminate it. Perhaps you could pull the chip and have a fellow XE owner try the chip in their board?
That's good advice from mlehto above, and worth a try.
I'm sorry to say that this smacks of a more serious problem. Failed contacts between the CPU and its PCB, failed contacts between the meg-array and daughter-board or failed contacts between the meg-array and mother-board.
There are things you can try;
Some useful information here about how I fixed my own XE/G4. http://www.amigans.net/modules/xforum/viewtopic.php?start=0&topic_id=3297&viewmode=flat&order=ASC&type=&mode=0

My myself and I
Finnaly got my uboot flashchip reprogrammed (THX goes to Simon Archer) and now my A1-XE is back again!!!
Mow only need to update system. Seems that the megarray (cpu holder) sometimes is loosing contact, so ASAP must dismount my A1-XE mb and put everytinhg on it's palce.
THX too all |
