On my X1000, it crashes immediately upon pressing enter on any URL.
And yes. Grim Reaper points the finger at bsdsocket.library. |

Aha ok, so i assume its the same as for tommysammy and for everyone else: once typed a url, its crashes.
Strange that it didn't happens for me, but i assume its just because i have no actual connection to internet from os4 now, and all my tests with blocking was in offline mode.
@samo79
Yeah, looks kind of the same indeed. The same population, the same old, the same christian related stuff :) Last edited by kas1e on 28-May-2012 at 04:41 PM.

Do you use the public version of this library or a new one in betatesting ? Pretty possible that the result can be different or even different between the platform (?)
Well i hope not, aniway if still some bug on this specific lib i'm fear we need to wait again for another component to use OWB at its entire potential .. or maybe not .. let's see_________________ BACK FOR THE FUTURE

Same here, so it's the latest pubblically released with the Update 4 (or Update 3 don't remember now), good as almost we are all trying with the same version of the lib

In "offline" mode, sockets aren't even used, btw. File protocol doesn't require sockets. So it's no surprise you don't run into this issue.
Anyway, my guess if you have an problem with the way SocketBase is handled in threads or so (or some reentrance issue with Roadshow GetHostByName, maybe... |

By offline mode i mean is that while i didn't have internet, i just type in url "aksadfjasjkdhasdfasfd" , and then enter, and one more time, and again. So its trying to resolve that mess and block (when it was blocked curl), but now didn't (still, crash in resolver). I.e. its not about openfile/etc.

Yep, will check that as well..

Maybe you have just default page some site (like google.com or so), so on runnin its just tryes to recieve data => the same crash as for others when they type stuff in url-field.Last edited by kas1e on 28-May-2012 at 06:25 PM. Last edited by kas1e on 28-May-2012 at 06:13 PM.

That crash sounds more-or-less identical to the one I get with pthreads threaded libcurl.
So maybe pthreads isn't to blame, amazingly.

| On AmigaONE X1000 (vanilla 4.1 Update 1.5 installation) I can start the the program but it crashes when I enter a search item (in google search for example) and press return.
The crash appears to associated with the bsdsocket.library?
If I ignore the DSI I can continue using the program offline and can navigate around my stored version of the old A-EON website. It does appear very speedy. If I try to access online websites I get the errot message "couldn't connect to server".
I will now try on a fully updated beta installation.
Update: exactly the same error obtained.
TrevorD
Edit : I also get a fontconfig error while OWB is loading

| seems to be same problem here on my SAM440 OS4.1upd4:
1) startsup fine except fontconfig message in a Console:
Quote:
Fontconfig error: line 27: not well-formed (invalid token) Fontconfig error: Cannot load default config file |
2) after entering a URL a DSI appears (have to wait a second, thought)
3) If I Ignore in GrimReaper, I get a "Error 7:couldn't connect to server"
4) after that, all entered URLs will give the same error (but no DSI beforre)
5) local websites on HD can still be displayed and navigated after all

Error related to fontconfig are old and wellknown and not related to binary, but to config file of fontconfig. Just remove mailformed character from config file (there was few threads about it lately)
As for crashlog, please , remove from post all the libraries/devices/task info (because with it hard to read everything normally), its not need it , only stack trace are necessary.
@trevor
fontconfig errors because of some bad character in the font config file, i do not remember exaclty, but i think it was < or kind on line 27 or so.
